    To use pivot yes, but I don’t think it was a planned pivot, because as we all know Breggie was Plan A, and I don’t know if there was ever a Plan B.

    Yes that was two weeks, but I don’t know if it was an actual so called pivot. I don’t know if Ranger was on their so called big board, or something that just occurred to someone like O’Halloran who was praised for making the deal.

    I think ST will be big for him, or not. Dumping $24M isn’t an easy decision.

    I don’t know if the Red Sox think Hicks is worth another look, or not, but I don’t think, because they kept a roster spot for him is anything more not wanting to just dump his salary. If he was making what the other guys were he might be gone, or he might not.

    Mayer will field, but I’m not sure how he will hit. As I’ve said before he lost a lot of developmental time due to injuries, and I don’t believe he’s where he should, or could be with the bat. Yes a trade for a 2B/3B seems simple, but still hasn’t happened yet for one thing or another.

    I agree getting Ranger was not a pivot from Bregman. Nice addition to the pitching staff, but not a 3B/2B, which is needed, or a power bat.

    4 OF, and 3 DH sounds like a problem to me not to mention no regular 3B, or 2B. I’m not counting on Mayer to be a regular at one of those positions either unless Cora bats him against LHP, and even then he’s still suspect to me.

    St Louis may be still shopping him, and yes we need a 2B like forever, but I just think the trade would have happened by now if it was going to.

    That’s why I keep asking why do the Red Sox have to settle. 11 different 2B 2 years ago, and countless guys at SS when Story was out, not to mention the parade through 1B.

    I don’t think it is even Plan Z. I think Cora would come out of retirement before that would happen.
