  1. Why do the Red Sox have the present record they have more than anything else? 27th in runs scored, 28 in HR, and 29th in total bases per game. How has OBP, and higher scoring worked for the Red Sox this year? Which tells a better story that correlates to their record. Higher OBP doesn’t always lead to higher scoring. The Red Sox have over 7 runners left on base this year per game. An higher OBP would probably just leave more runners on base as bad as the Red Sox are at it.
  2. Disagree on opt outs. Lucrative for the Red Sox on Bogey? Bogey’s three years would have been up, and no Story would have been signed who is a big problem with almost 2 more years left on his contract. JD held the REd Sox hostage for a few years on will he, or won’t he opt out.
  3. Runs, HR, and RBI shows up on the scoreboard in real time, and counts towards a W-L. OBP doesn’t always lead to a run as the Red Sox prove time, and time again.
  4. Agree on Mayer. Let’s take the training wheels off, and yes little Anthony has been most disappointing.
  5. Line of the day. The Red Sox have been talking about run prevention for the past few years, and they’ve finally accomplished that. The only problem is that it’s their own.
  6. Talking a lot of stats on F&M today, and mostly on how low they are in some old time stats. HR, runs, and total bases, which says a lot on why the Red Sox have the current record they have. 29th in total bases per game. Can’t get much worse.
  7. I don’t believe Duran was even considered. Early could be up next.
  8. Yes, but Houck was older compared to the others, and struggled finding a role. Kut Man was not in the same category to me.
  9. I don’t believe Romy not being here has prevented Mayer from moving to SS. 3B maybe, but not SS.
  10. Except for Con Man, and Abrreu hitting HR even when others do hit they get LOB, which has contributed also.
  11. They went from one extreme with the Mookie, and Bogey times to pretty much everyone except that Casas didn’t bite.
  12. Luckily Casas didn’t take their offer.
  13. They can also scratch out runs like they did this weekend against Fred’s Flops. Quite refreshing to watch actually.
  14. Masa’s bat right now is not a big bump up, and Story has the history, and potential to get hot, and produce more than Masa although that wait may be getting shorter.
  15. That the ball got through looked bad no doubt, but Story still wouldn’t have thrown the runner out at 1B.
  16. Everything thing gets magnified when the team isn’t hitting, and losing, and closer to last place in the league than to first place.
  17. He no doubt he had a hand it, but there would have been a Long line behind him saying the same thing.
  18. Story’s defense hasn’t been the reason the Red Sox are 28th in HR, and 27th in runs scored . The error by Story didn’t look good yesterday, but he wasn’t going to get the runner at 1B anyway IMO.
  19. Disagree 100%. Story wasn’t the only one who had a discussion with LOWbres after Cora was fired.
  20. I agree. Masa hasn’t done anything to help his case to stay in the lineup since little Anthony has been out. Then again Duran hasn’t done much either.
  21. The only different I’ve seen so far since Chad took over on the field is Masa was the odd man out when everyone was healthy, so I don’t think it’s a little bit more up in the air at all. I’m not so sure the Red Sox see Mayer as the SS anymore, and he’s still a platoon player.
  22. Glass half full being close to a Wildcard spot, and glass half empty being close to the very bottom of the league.
  23. They still are platooning Mayer’s who hasn’t been doing much with the bat himself. I think Story gets a little more time.
  24. Runs scored, which leads to W-L record? I didn’t watch much baseball this weekend, but of what I saw it was refreshing to watch Tampa play some real baseball. Get on base, steal, bunt, steal, and bunt again.
  25. Yes the AL sucks, which makes the Red Sox sitting at 17-23 even look worse than if it had happened in other years. If all our players played better?🤭Well they haven’t, and every team in the league could make the same statement. The AL is bad, and the Red Sox are even worse. 17-23, and 7-12 at home. 28th in HR, and 27th in runs scored pretty much says it all, and done in a league that sucks, and is bad.
