  1. Interesting. Could O'Neill been doubled off after the infield fly was called, a catch made and Tyler did not get back to first. I do not know the full rule but invoking the infield fly should be equivalent of time out, no further play until reset.
  2. One of the more unique ways for chUmps to kill a rally
  3. Has Hamilton ever dived, either left or right, and actually got the grounder. Maybe if he adjusted the assigned positioning he could get the next one
  4. Idea for a Jimmy Fund money raiser. Have Dom Smith race Masataka around the bases with JH donating $100/second.
  5. Bello gets his Quality Start , so there's that. Jansen ties the game with a single to score Mr Double Dom Smith.
  6. Back to LOBster batting again. Can't advance the runners, can't score the runners. It would be somewhat meaningful to win this series, to both teams.
  7. the game is 1-1 but watching Bello pitch and Kirby pitch looks like a notable difference. Bello gave up the lead on a 2 out 3-2 walk ( Ump could have given him a cookie) , then a soft single to left. But K's the 3rd out to shutdown the inning, unlike last night.
  8. Yohan Ramirez did not last long. 1 day from LA to DFA . I guess it is Sims and Garcia to bolster the BP Nick Sogard swaps seats with Westbrook on the road back to Worcester.
  9. He appears to be doing what I asked for, but maybe I should have slipped in , Get On Base, bud
  10. I want to see Jarren not K on his first AB, and stop chasing balls away, as he had cured that problem earlier in the season. Still my man, Duran, but a couple minor tweaks would help him further
  11. Of course balance everything with the true idiot who owns the Angels. Rendon back on IL with lower back inflammation and Mike Trout who cannot overcome his meniscus tear recovery and is pulled out of his rehab program. Rendon is the definition of a quitter.
  12. Breslow spent a relatively small amount to get "help" for the rest of 2024's season (56 games) . Nick Yorke never made the 26 man so you can't miss him, and neither did any of the other guys traded who were probably Rule 5 problems over the winter. But you have to balance that with the fact that Sims, Ramirez, Paxton, D. Jansen, Garcia are all free agents after September 29 , along with Kenley, Martin (IL) and Pivetta, So roughly half of the current 13 pitching spots on the 26 man need filling over the off season. Breslow still has a lot of work to do going forward. The trade deadline was pretty much smoke and mirrors.
  13. 15 minutes for Craig to pull off the deal of the 21st century .
  14. Wingenter , and his 27.00 ERA, gets a second life in MLB due to the extreme shortage of Sox BP arms and gives up 3 runs in 1.1 innings. His body language displays the his style of pitching. He knows the Worcester Express bus is idling outside the locker room
  15. Unless something unexpected and unusual happens tonight/tomorrow , this deadline just reinforces that the Red Sox ownership and FO philosophy will be to control costs, take few if any chances, develop from within and hope for the best a year or two out. This franchise will NOT try to buy its way to a dominant team. Breslow was neither a buyer nor seller despite any prior claims, barring a big deal in the next 18 hours.
  16. Amazing how Pivetta can be sharp one game, and a dog the next. Others have said it, but his middle name is Inconsistent. He picked a good game to be part of.
  17. He's trying hard and has been much improved. I do think the sore thumb gave him a lot of problem when he returned from IL. Concerned that the same will be true for Casas for awhile when he returns. Dom Smith has been a serviceable replacement .
  18. Had it figured out. But Nick now gave up back to backs, so that's 2 HRs. One more and his Quality Start stat is down the drain
  19. Not sure why Wong thought it necessary to steal 3rd with a 7-0 lead and 2 outs. I guess it looked available, he got the base but failed to hold on.
  20. I would be glad if somehow Nick could get 6 innings with only 1 HR allowed. I do think the Sox are going to hit a ton tonight, 12-15 runs
  21. Although Priester has mostly started for the Pirates, with marginal results, I would see him going into the pen at first while Bailey works on him. Nick Yorke-- good luck in Pittsburg, there was no room in Boston's infield once Grissom and Story get well, LOL.
  22. It's one thing to get beat, it's another thing to get embarrassed by mental and physical errors, along side a disinterested attitude towards the game. A deserved loss that was over after the top half of 1st.
  23. But Captain, the ownership tried to save money so didn't buy any lifeboats for this freighter
  24. Even if Brez made a deal for 2 relievers tonight, the players have 3 days, I believe , to report, so you will get into the Mariner's series with no help. I'm ready to put this season on the FO not reacting smartly to the injury situations, and to a MiLB contingent, not quite ready for primetime.
