  1. Same question as yesterday for Cora. Should a starter who is rolling along pretty well and under 100 pitches be pulled so the reliever can open with a clean inning. I'd rather let the starter either get 1-3 outs or pull after first base runner.
  2. Why not just be honest ? Kelly is not reliable and will likely blow the lead or put half of the WS on the IL with broken bones. In other words, Zach is a sack...
  3. Yes, hard to say if he wasn't quite ready at game start or did he just pitch a 6 inning shutout ( after the HR) ? In a 2 run game, Zach Kelly scares me about like Weissert does. Like an Easter box of chocolates, you never know what you're getting . Flame throwing strikes or gopher balls preceeded by 2 out walks
  4. No, we don't need those stories, unless the player in question is one we are very likely to pick up when the White Sox are disbanded for failing to field a competitive MLB team. Maybe the goal for the Red Sox is to return to the really old days when team rosters were somewhat regional, featuring local players. I'm sure Moon could give us an all-New England born/raised Red Sox team that would be worthy of recognition. Taken from the rosters beginning in 1903 through today.
  5. Casas hits the same ball that won yesterday's game but the same wind that carried two out to RF slows his down., heading to LF
  6. Wind works both ways.. Wilyer "Windy HR" Abreu covers the bet
  7. Raffy with a hustle double ? Very impressed . Duran has got to find a way on base in the first. I know he's trying but it is a game changer when he does
  8. ChiSox lineup features 4 guys hitting below .150, and 1 guy hitting below .100. Yet Houck finds himself trailing by 2 runs, worsening his over 9. ERA after 1. 2 out walks with no one on base, Tanner. Get your head in the game. Now the HR was wind aided but no excuse.
  9. Glad I showed patience with Casas . He got the hit that counted in the end. A win will record the same regardless of score and circumstances but just should not have had to struggle and risk losing that one.
  10. Bregman must have stayed up late with the new baby to miss that many pitches over the plate
  11. Hamilton running on contact, Rafaela bounces to the pitcher, throws out Hamilton. Goes from man on second no outs to Cedanne on first , 2 outs Devers ready to win it.
  12. I'm glad I learned patience recently because Casas tempts me.
  13. Crochet deserves a stronger team behind him. They seem content to let him work and maybe the rest will try to stay awake.
  14. Little things, little things. Weissert has been good to date ( it's early) but blows a 3 run lead . Casas-Story just miss on a DP that would have made Weissert look good. It looked like Story caught the ball, made the tag awkwardly and the ball leaked out of his glove, extending the inning. Then the bomb. But you also have to look at the offense once again. 4 hits, including the 3 run HR that made everyone think this one was over . Mulktiple walks and 3 HBP's and the batters could not scratch out a run. Noe we are in the 8th, tied with a team that is a dead loser except when playing the Red Sox. Go figure.
  15. 400' opposite field power ? Devers opens the scoring with a 3 run bomb. Good for him and Crochet.
  16. Once again, offense is leaving it up to Crochet to get the shutout. Poor decision. His pitch count accelerated in 3rd and he is not perfectly sharp . Get this man some runs.
  17. Duran certainly had a few hard hit at'em balls before getting his single. He does need to put the ball in play, then run like hell. It will energize the team to keep the line moving
  18. Dobbins got 6 innings, allowing only 2 which is a victory itself, and Bernie B. gets a shutdown 7th. It may be the CWS in true form this time, but the W will look big , breaking above .500.
  19. Story on fire tonight, picking up all the runners. He does have a nice swing and elevates up into the wind.
  20. Dobbins is pitching very effectively and efficiently. Good news for the BP crew.
  21. If you want to know what is up with Cedanne, just watch his swings during an AB. Long looping with a big dip. To me, he isn't focused on actually hitting the ball just with taking the huge swing that got him there, got him prepaid . But it got him a HR tonight
  22. So encouraging to get runs early and have Story become the story for all the right reasons. Mr. Dobbins, you have a gift waiting if you know how to pick it up.
  23. 50% of White Sox wins this year * 18 games total) came at the expense of the now .500 Red Sox. This clearly calls for a 4 game sweep, Smee. 3-1 if you have to, but nothing less. It is amazing that the Red Sox went so deep into 2024 at the 3rd WC point , 5-8 games over .500 but totally flopped out from there. The defense and relief pitching completely fell apart. This year, relief looks much better with the positioning of Whitlock and Chapman showing ability, if not overuse. The infield defense remains a question mark. Hitting ??? Time to get it going, boys. This series should remind us of the Cardinals series.
  24. Not much luck or breaks on the hitting side either to help. Narvaez crushes one to the deepest CF and a great running catch robs him. It's 1-0 or whatever.
