  1. Sticking with Garcia, but NFL if he has trouble
  2. Wong having a mixed day.
  3. He did not have much tonight, just kind of slinging the ball up there, no command nor control
  4. Regardless of his potential skills, i really hope the Sox don't make moves that will upset the cohesion of this team. Let him ply out the year in Worcester. Gonzalez is likely not star material but they are winning with him, Hamilton, and Smith.
  5. Tim Hudson is a rookie as a 3B coach
  6. Now Sox must score Masa, Big insurance run
  7. Quality Start Alert.... James Paxton: 6 innings 2 runs
  8. Duran is still my man, with his 2 out, 2 RBI double. Now AC has to manage his BP to lock down a win, setting up the series win
  9. Abreu might have had it but it was Rafaela who blew it by not positioning himself for the potential bounce back off the wall.
  10. 2 outs, 2 strikes and Paxton can't end the inning or make a play on the dribbler.
  11. Walking the #9 hitter with Witt, Jr lurking is never a good tactic. Sox still leaving runners on base with 2 outs, 1 out and 0 out.
  12. With 53 to go, Martin will get some opportunities for sure, but I would be surprised if he can finish the year between his anxiety and a tender elbow, not a great combo. We will see. Slaten, coming back from the same elbow inflammation may also be touch and go. Question on Hendriks will be how fast can he get in serious pitching condition . He should be fresh but may need 4 or 5 outings to settle in. The Sox better get a big van to run the guys back to Worcester who will lose their seats in the pen.
  13. Does resuming a suspended game before starting a new game qualify as a doubleheader for purposes of adding a roster spot for the day?
  14. Could it be that the addition of Sims and Garcia resulted in not just more arms available, but the pressure came off guys who were overworked and being challenged daily. The one game Sunday featuring 13 outs by by the bullpen including Wink,, Booser, Kelly and Bernardino ( 3Ks) was quite interesting. If that is a legit reset , it could be very valuable as the starters still seem to be HR prone and short stays on the mound. Breslow may be getting more dividends than just a couple new faces.
  15. I really like Duran's taped wrist bands with "Fuk'em" written on it. That's how I feel too. Just win, Baby
  16. Yes, on 3 ball pitches well out of the zone. Consider how much better he might be if he forced pitchers to come to him./ That was the point, not to be looking walks, but take them when offered vs chasing pitches for K's. Someday you will get it that the OBP could be .350 , rarified territory.
  17. Holy Cow, Batman Abreu. That was a line shot for 400'. No solo for this guy
  18. For the technicians in the crowd, the actual song is O Sole Mio, but that doesn't relate well to the actual circumstances.
  19. Knocking EO out after 5 full, but Sox have 2nd/3rd , no outs, ruh-roh . Abreu to the rescue, I hope
  20. Agree, that he has the potential to be a great hitter in the lineup. Counting on the next couple years for Wilyer andd Cedanne to bring more baseball smarts and experience to their games and become the players that Duran has become. That could be an outfield reminiscent of the Red Sox OF's of the past.
  21. Yeah, I think you are correct. he looks better than he performs on the scoreboard. BTW, is it true that the favorite music in the Sox clubhouse is the old Italian favorite, O SOLO Mio ?
  22. Duran showing up big time. The analytics are now projecting a 5.5-4.5 win for the Sox. The algorithm has been modified to ignore bullpen performance. Half runs are discounted to the nearest whole number. Se who gets that
  23. Wilyer finds the top edge of the wall propelling the Sox into a 2-2 tie. Nice swing on a pitch up in the zone, doesn't roll over it but goes where pitched
  24. No substitute for speed, except HR power, but Hamilton and Duran upset the algorithm, now predicting 9-3 outcome.
  25. Having run the 2 inning results through an advanced metrics analytical algorithm, I can safely predict a 9-0 result for this game. If the trend changes, I will get real time updates. Going with basics, Sox pitchers have been throwing medium FB's up in the middle zone. What do they expect ?
