  1. Sogard-Slaten play at first another example of failure to execute simple plays. Go ahead and blow it again
  2. Cedanne shows some plate discipline and gets rewarded by being screwed by the HP Bumpire
  3. Hamilton was picked and got very lucky . Going on a LH'er ? Not too bright but outcome justifies being an idiot
  4. How in hell could Sogard take those last 2 sweetmeat cookies ? There is something mentally wrong with the Red Sox marginal players. That was an awful AB
  5. So now Dobbins is the long man out of BP ( 2-3 innings) . But when he cannot throw a single strike to the leadoff hitter and then a DP chance is missed at second base, what do you expect.
  6. Bello out 4.2 innings to avoid Yelich. Bernie will will walk him. Cora hold Bello for a second to explain the analytics. Bello says to his glove, Pendejo !
  7. I can accept batting and pitching slumps , but during those times just maybe you could play defense to your best to help. Duran dropping that liner didn't hel,p.
  8. Each day the win rate required to get to even 86 wins moves higher. This season and the players left standing are not ready for a big run, so yes, take the lumps of getting 4 true rookies*, a couple of other young players** and 1 old DH through the year , reset next off season. *=Campbell, Mayer, Anthony , Narvaez **= Abreu, Rafaela You can guess at the old DH
  9. Thank you, Nick. Good portrayal of what has failed so far this year. Multiple young players and a couple vets who have combined to make an impotent offense . I do think the decision on Anthony is in Breslow's hands, not Cora's, and that may be why there are comments on relationship issues between the 2 alleged adults in the room.
  10. Kristian Campbell, in his current funk at bat, is not an answer at 1B . He might become one and he may hit again this year, but sticking him there now reeks of a "Give Up" attitude on the manager and FO. With Mayer up and playing 3B, where do they go with Romy Gonzalez , after his rehab stint ? Would be glad to be wrong.
  11. It does have that vibe. in fact, it would have to exceed the Sox current pace to make 78-84 . If Cora's players/pitchers could reach 78-84, you would have to give field management and FO big props for hitting that mark 3 of 4 years running.
  12. Yet Bello's last 2, maybe more, starts have been the rare daytime games. It may be his turn in the rotation and maybe there is no one else who could switch off, but why does Cora make it harder than it already is. I hope Bello throws well, he doesn't pitch, for the team's sake but he clearly doesn't like the light of day
  13. What are the plans for the cash ?? The idea of the Sacramento-Las Vegas A's sending money to Boston is almost funny, if it wasn't so sad.
  14. I don't know Cody or Fansided but at least he has listed 6 suggestions for potential positive change with the 2025 Red Sox . His earlier story on having to move Trevor Story is also well pointed. If Red Sox field and FO management ( YKIYK) do not make internal moves quickly to reposition this team then they will secure the 4th season at .500 or less because the great August-September collapse still awaits them. They simply have to take direct action to shake this malaise up.
  15. Lifeless and listless--- you hit that better than the #1-#2- #3 hitters did tonight
  16. Cora actually said postgame, " We gotta be better" for the 39th time. No mi corazon, you gotta go
  17. Why go through the motions of a walk with the risk of a wild pitch to load the bases. Much better situation where you can get the force out at home, Maybe a DP. Hendriks is another reclamation project with not much payoff
  18. Could easily be the worst performance by the lineup of the year. The merits of Cora will not be a settled question but he does not seem to have much of a positive effect on the tendencies of his team at bat, so why keep him.
  19. It's not so much on Chapman but on the really bad hitters the Sox run up to the plate then quickly follow back to the dugout. Story is the team leader in leaving guys on base
  20. You would like to think this 1-0 game was an exciting tight pitcher's duel but instead it is a slog by two inept teams of batters . Not sure what they think they can do to turn this around but Cora/Bailey and Breslow cannot continue to wear out the bullpen game after game. Fitts did well with his "rehab " start and hopefully is back in the 5 inning rotation. The hitters are in a collective slump very reminiscent of last August.
