BULLETIN: NO SOX PITCHER HAS TAKEN AN "L" IN A LONG TIME (OVER 2 WEEKS)
  2. vegasbob
Signing Bregman over anyone would have been a major error . I'll take what we have now but they did test all patience before July

Congrats to Willson, Imagine if we had 2 like Contreras or Abreu to rotate through DH.

Rays reminding me of prior year Sox D's

Breslow's primary advisor sitting next to him , working on the trade desk

Ahh, the difference between a thrower and a real pitcher.

to be DFA'ed ? Oh wait, Anthony is not quite ready

The only defense of Duran's late start was that he had to be sure Mono was moving. OTOH, he had a big lead
  9. vegasbob
Duran's doing nothing to impress another GM. Speed is great until it fades
  10. vegasbob
Mono should have been called out on strikes, then doubles to tie it up. Duran must start doing something again. Of course, he is AVAILABLE which others are not

SS or 2B, you could list the same crew . Durbin may well have locked down 3B, and Willson has 1B. Casas is no factor
  12. vegasbob
He is hitting better since coming to Boston

Gray not real sharp today. Rafaela gets tricked in CF, Sox don't score first , etc. En route to 13 in a row

Regardless of today's outcome, a win naturally, everyone who is a regular on this site and suffered through the misery of April-May-June should take 5 minutes to just enjoy the results of the last few weeks. No complaints on Breslow, the lineup, Tracy, the mound staff, etc. Truly a remarkable turnaround to celebrate. Now on to a new challenge . Can the team sustain this momentum , can Breslow add a couple of the right players to make a run at the AL, can Abreu hit 2 more bombs today ? It is finally good again to be a Red Sox fan !

It's telling me that the 11th and 12th win in the streak were won by a combo of 4 Abreu HRs, Jones, and Conntrares long balls . Sox need a long ball threat at DH .

    Trade Chapman now
  17. vegasbob
Chapman climbs the ladder towards 400 saves and his 40 inning contract lock in for '27

Honestly, would any GM on a contender take Duran at this point. Swings at 2 ball 4s , one if which was headed for Rays dugout
  19. vegasbob
Whitlock looked good, but I'll take 3 more runs for safety
  20. vegasbob
Why does Duran look like he is stumbling out there on every fly ball?
  21. vegasbob
FWIW, Breslow may be buying but it will be small stuff . He shouldn't want to break up any key pieces of this group.
  22. vegasbob
If this streak and current series doesn't tell you about the need for power bats, nothing will. 6 outs to go
  23. vegasbob
Might have been an HR. by Abreu but it was not wise to swing on a 3-2 count because he may have drawn a walk
  24. vegasbob
It was 2 runs before Watson gave up the 2 out HR. The point was a better pitcher should have been used to hold it at 2. The reality is that Sandoval had nothing
  25. vegasbob
In a 2 run game with 9 outs to go Tracy/Bailey uses the 8th man in BP after all got a 4 day vacation. Yesterday's DHeader didn't blow out the BP. Bello warmed but didn't pitch
