  1. Pinch hitting Hamilton instead of Narvaez , for a foul out ? Narvaez will have to catch in any case. At least Hamilton cannot pinch run now and get picked off jumping his steal attempt vs a LH pitcher like the last 2 times he ran
  2. Toro had next to no role on this team after ST but now he is the corner infielder and is hitting decently . Lucky to have him now .
  3. Story does whack a hard grounder through for an RBI, so good for him . Campbell needs a lot of work.
  4. To all you Devers supporters, if that's your hero boy, then you should take up another sport. Never liked him, never will Merloni doesn't either and is willing to say so.
  5. The wins in NY were enjoyable just because it was the Yankees , but to follow up with this load of garbage does show just what the team is about. Total waste of a good start by Bello.
  6. Exactly how many successful pickoffs at 2B have you seen in a lifetime ? Why do they even bother. Just look the guy back. Jon Lester had the right idea---don't throw the b all to anyone not named Varitek
  7. Really bad performance b y Bernadino and his battery mate
  8. At least you know that is what you are going to get with Rafaela , and some day he will be moved on as was JBJr. It looked like Cedanne may be wising up a bit recently until that AB with 2 men on. Story, as an MLB veteran, has no excuse for his terrible chasing . His stats are awful for a SS one time power hitter playing 50% of his games in Fenway.
  9. Sorry, Max but defense matters. Those 3 runs by TB should not have scored. The standing O's for Anthony are over. The Sox MiLB prep school teaches the Red Sox Way very well
  10. At least Anthony was able to hit the pitcher so to speak but clearly has no luck as the carom went straight to 3Bman. It was well struck .
  11. Wong may be an all-time poor Bases Loaded batter. 22PA's, 4 hits and 10 rbis total in his career. Your team does not want him up with sacks full. What a miserable season so far for Connor .
  12. So basically all the waiting for Anthony was basically dithering by the FO , until one of the OF'er got an injury. I do hope Anthony gets acclimated quick and rips the ball. Can't wait to see approach at bat. After watching some of the Rafaela/ Campbell AB's , I'm thinking Anthony and Mayer 's readiness will puta spotlight on the coaching at Worcester and the Sox MLB hitting strategies.
  13. Very successful series finish in NY. Let's see if the team can maintain any sense of momentum and threaten the .500 ceiling this week. Pretty much time for Bello to step up and be the #2 on this staff.
  14. That was an in the vicinity play at second on Hamilton's DP. Thought that type ruling was rescinded when they took away the injury type slide like Machado's
  15. Why does Boston historically and presently only get 1 base on a single while the opponents seem to score from second on groundball singles ?
  16. Major function going on at my house for about 60 people so could get very limited looks at this game, BUT just saw the Yankees 8th. I felt compelled to say Justin Wilson is a gutless thrower of the baseball. Yes, he K'ed 2 but only after s***ing his pants at the prospect of throwing vs. the Yankees. I would move him at the earliest opportunity to someone in the NL Central. What a loser
  17. The answer in modern time ( post 2000) is NO, they were the best.
  18. There is all the possibility of a less than 78 win season, and a huge sellout at the deadline in late July, while we rebuild with yet more cheap prospects whose upside is UNLIMITED until they actually show up. Meanwhile Anthony can't find a seat on the pine bench . Lot of trash being thrown at Cora, how about Bailey's prep of these starters ? BP looks very good for a stretch but the incapables found by Breslow are not doing their part.
  19. Aside from Buehler's inability to do anything competitive, he burns up the BP in front of a series that has big meaning to Red Sox fans. Now they need to finish the next 2 games and head off to a tough 20 day stretch against competitive teams. Season will turn on this next set of series.
  20. Simply not acceptable pitching. This game was literally over in the 2nd inning but the guys played out the final 21 outs and scored some runs. The Bullpen held the Yankees to 2 runs over 7 innings, while Buehler could not compete, especially with 2 outs, 2 strikes.
  21. Why does Campbell stand at the plate like a useless twit not recognizing any pitch ? He is regressing to the point he could just not leave the dugout, or I and any other people on TalkSox could generate the same stare and walk back. He is screwed in the head
  22. If I'm Crawford and Sandoval, I'm extending my rehab to say, oh about September 30 to avoid pitching in front of these guys
  23. But our batters can provide a break and a little rest while they hit and run the bases and pressure the Yankees to cough up a 7 run lead. Oh, wait........
  24. This game may influence that reorganization. The Sox are really hitting bottom
