  1. Bulletin just in: Notice to Red Sox dugout--- 3 runs is not enough to win this game. Need to get to 7
  2. Had to go out for a few, but pulled Dobbins at 66 pitches so Wilson ( LH) could face Lindor , with 2 outs in the 5th ? I'm sure I missed something significant because Cora is not managing tonight and messing with a win situation for his pitcher who actually showed up ready and with some pitching ability ??
  3. Umpiring is worse by the minute . Devers AB showed all the flaws in called B/S
  4. Simply amazing that Brez did not sign Alonso . Thank goodness
  5. Dobbins looking far more consistent in his pitches than Bello or Giolito . Houck is out on IL and may have trouble getting back in the rotation. Meanwhile Narvaez continues to render Mr .Wong a doppelganger for Wally Pipp.
  6. I realize there are circumstances that could lead to Duran being seriously on the block at trade deadline, but right now, he, with Devers, are making things happen I love to watch him play the game with intensity
  7. Did not take Laz Diaz to get his first call wrong. Pitiful; example of preferential hiring and retention. Dobbins rolling with a shutout
  8. Ironic that Casas , the underperformer, went down at 1B although he wasn't playing 1B at the moment. Just another in the jokes that this season is becoming .
  9. So Devers walk-off HR and GS the following day are the season highlights ? Houck , who I guess will have serious elbow issues, and Bello , who has command/control issues , Buehler , who will have shoulder inflammation all year, and Gioliito, who is a .500+- pitcher, are the studs supporting Crochet, who has trouble getting run and BP support. Fitts, who needs to heal, and Dobbins, who needs a regular spot in the rotation , will be more help the remainder of this year than any of the Houck-Bello-Buehler-Giolito crew.
  10. Now that Ozuna removed any doubt regarding a comeback, it might be worth asking if Cora had no incentive to replace Newcomb after Verdugo's hit ? Wilson was at 50 pitches, had gone a lot longer covering up Houck's mess . If the way to get playoff bound is to win series at home and split on the road, it would also be true that losing series at home and getting swept on the road by good teams is a sure way to another losing season.
  11. Notice how Bello's failure sucked the energy right out of the Sox offense. Not a hit in four innings. You cannot tell me this is a good clubhouse atmosphere with this team
  12. Giving contract extensions ( no matter how "market reasonable) to young players may make economic sense but does remove their incentive to prove their ability. Especially those for whom the contract is generational money to someone from the 3rd world.
  13. The fact that Cora is standing there, arms folded , letting Bello blow this game is very wrong. I know Bello is a BP burner so deal with it. Stop the bleeding. Win a damn game. Cora is setting the tone for a losing mentality here
  14. Bello is a terrible pitcher, just really a thrower. No sense of command/control. and this is no rookie level crap. I believe he is truly without a brain cell functioning
  15. If Sox hold at 4-4 or even go ahead, I hope Cora pulls Bello after 2 outs in 5th . That assumes he can get 2 outs. 3 straight hits with 2 outs to allow the tie in the 4th, SMH Another in a long line of Sox pitchers who think the inning is over at 2 outs
  16. Bello is really a F up . 0-2 change up ?? Wong or Bailey should be relieved of duty
  17. That was a monster GS HR by Devers . The Sox should send him back to Worcester for the next 2 weeks to learn 1B .
  18. Wong stands at the plate holding his bat while 2 center cuts get called on him. he is clueless and his throws to 2nd base are drifting high and wide. He will need to go later in 2025
  19. Maybe Story should pull the ball a little to avoid the 400' flyouts
  20. Moon, Bello is never ready for the first inning and showed that again today. Digging the hole early.
  21. Brandon, figure out which Sox team you are posting for. This is pretty weak
  22. And now a shot at a series win behind the inimitable Brayan Bello . Could be a great boost if BB can go 6 full without too many BB's
  23. For all the Cora bashing, perhaps deservedly, he did a move replacing Narvaez on first with D. Hamilton, who then stole second and scored the tying run on Duran's hit. AC may have picked up that move also well played by Tito Francona in 2004 playoffs vs. NYY Replacing Narvaez in a tight game with Wong is a little risky, especially with Chapman throwing hard, but this move worked out very well.
