The surprising part of this extended slump by Leon is that we have seen him capable of hitting, even if at the .220 level. It seems when Vaz went out his offensive game died, but he has had plenty of time since early September to get his legs back under him and hit a few balls. He would have walked more if he had just NEVER taken the bat off his shoulder. A lot of bad pitches swings in this futile streak. certainly the defense has saved a few runs, and likely saved Game 1 for sure, but each guy in an AL lineup needs to contribute some pressure on the pitcher.
