Here's a thought on Duvall's return, which will be good to see. He put up unusually high stats in his total of 8 games (36 PAs) , and created buzz that Bloom had found a power hitting OF'er . Someone along with Turner to bat around Devers , getting Raffy some better pitches.
Adam is effectively back at ST in terms of mid-season game readiness and speed. His wrist may be medically healed but will Duvall favor it, be reluctant for awhile to go hard or coming in firing away. I think he will need 8-10 games to get up to speed , say mid-late June . Those AB's will come from DH ( Turner to 1B) and Duran, maybe a turn in LF resting Yoshi . At that point , the team will have a sense as to how good Duvall may be going forward, and who needs to demoted, DFA'ed or IL'ed. The short term question is that if Arroyo and Duvall return close to each other , there will need to be 2 slots opened on the 26. Who is most likely to go.....for Duvall , is it Tapia, Refsnyder, or Duran, who has options ? For Arroyo, is it Valdez who does have options.
Still too early to outguess the trade deadline opportunities , but at least the 40 man roster this year does contain a small surplus of players who have shown some MLB skills for Boston . Looking towards July to reshape what should have been done December-March
