That was a tremendous 5-1 homestand winning games against a good team and sweeping the terrible one. Only thing better is if another AL East team loses today. Only the NYY'ers are in position to do so right now. Jays, Rays and O's are winners
Kotsay either doesn't care, doesn't insist on fundamentals, or knows this is his last contract with Oakland. His guys need to be ripped, even if they have limited talent.
Notin, still looking for a Blackburn deal? He may be a bit weakened from his illness.
Kudos to Arroyo for a key 2 out hit tying the game. The Sox are a late inning scoring team
Duran with a tough AB but no hit.
I'm sure that when he sees AC in the clubhouse that Duran loudly plays Fogarty's "Centerfield" ( "Put me in coach, I'm ready to play...centerfield")
Glad that Devers does not waste his energy on the A-S game this year. He needs to refocus and pick his overall game up for the final 71 games and help Turner carry this team.
I realize the need for Chang at SS as a plug while still waiting on Story. But at the MLB level he is an automatic out. BA of .140 and OPS at .493 . He even hurt his own hamate swinging a bat. Yu should be on a shortlist of guys who will be re-moved in the neasr future.
Winckowski is becoming consistent with giving up HR's. He did a tremendous job getting out of that one inning but he is not the same effective pitcher he was earlier in season.
Sox have 2 walks and 2 HBP's but NO HITS through 3. I contend that yesterday was an outlier and despite the 4 game win streak to date, they are still in an overall hitting funk in late June early July, featuring low power hitting .
