  1. I think this is Houck's final inning. If he gets Calhoun now, it will be a very good 6 innings in a key game. But if he gives up a bandbox cheap HR to Willie, he needs to rethink his pitch location. McGuire wake up
  2. The problem with McGuire making the last out is that Kike in the 9 slot becomes the leadoff batter, but I have a feeling he may have the big bat out and ready next inning. If one of our own pitchers let the baserunners go like German has done, the would probably be called out on TalkSox
  3. Devers is actually a hitter , working his way back and exceeding warning track power. An essential hit behind Houck.
  4. Seeing a lot more FB's from Houck . Doesn't look as relaxed as before. Does he think too much ?
  5. Would not be a Sox game if they were not playing from behind. Just rare for the Sox to jump out to a lead.
  6. Houck's mastery of the Yanks the first time through is actually amazing . 7 of 9 K's with great movement on the ball, changing speeds, low pitch count, all the skills of a veteran pitcher. Now for the second time through, after the Sox score a few runs. Then it will be time to see if Tanner actually changes his approach, arm angle, or mindset that has led to trouble the second/third time through.
  7. Good thing Devers can field because he sure can't hit much. Reminds me a lot of the $10 million guy who will hopefully be traded at the deadline. Do i need to jiggle the bait or will it be swallowed hook, line and sinker ?
  8. Very nice grab Devers and cross infield throw from the knees. That was worth watching
  9. Not long SS. He would not survive the first Tkachuk in that luscious mouth and playoff beard
  10. Awwww Max, can't we just enjoy a rare win from our crowd of inept clowns who cannot play this game with any degree of certainty , finesse, skill nor energy ?
  11. Who says they need 5 runs ?? 3 was plenty vs the Bronx Bummers. That's why total scoring and run differential are not meaningful stats in terms of W-L's
  12. Jansen does close it out. A win is all that matters. Huge win, and a loss for Cole
  13. He does unravel from time to time
  14. Volpe hitting .190/.618....no chance
  15. Arroyo will not be playing goalie for the Bruins next year. Also doesn't have the pads to do so
  16. Close and close... Interesting English language
  17. Gotta give Kike credit on that catch of a flare
  18. F' me Arroyo ! 2 DP's and a K, you are special. Oh yeah, forgot your bouncer to second baseman too
  19. Pivetta should get a raise on those 2 outs ! ( not really, that was his job) Just do not bring him back for the 8th
  20. When your catcher is a virtual rookie, 2B is a journeyman , SS is a CF'er, and your Cf'er to date is a marginal rookie type, what did you think was going to happen, Chaim ??
  21. Arroyo would not give up the body or face to block Wong's s***** throw, then the free pass on the walk/passed ball gets 1 for the Yankems
  22. Sox have Cole on a growing pitch count and Arroyo attacks three pitches, 2 out of zone to end the inning. Cole is still likely done.
  23. Cole racking up a 93+ pitch count, may be done after 6, if we can stretch him further
  24. Rafi finds the wall and passes by it
  25. Turner is on the slide of death as a DH. It will take awhile but he's going to lose the comparison contest with JDM
