  1. How many swinging bunts do Sox give up .... LOTS. How many do they get in return...about none.
  2. Rafaela looks terrible on first two strikes, then gets the 2 out, 2 rbi single to give Sox 4-2 lead
  3. Fred, looks like Whitlock need that rest break. pumping it up at 97. looking sharp. Still at 2-2 this one needs about 3 runs to be a win
  4. Suarez having a lot of trouble in the 5th. Bases loaded 1 out. same as 4th. 93 pitches with 2 outs and sacks still filled. Pitches his way out of 3-2 count with a very edgy strike. Texas hits like Sox do with MoB
  5. Duran's May vs June up/down shows the inconsistency. They won't extend him as he approaches 30 later this year. With no long win streak over rest of June into July, Jarren must be traded Maybe Anthony will return one day and force the issue. What if Roman is so scared of reinjury that he never takes full power swings again, ever ?
  6. Suarez gives the run right back. This could be a long 5 year contract. He's more of a #4 than anything higher.
  7. Mickey G must be the best surprise of 2026. But DeGrom carved up Narvaez and later Cedanne, after Gasper's rbi single. Abreu gets the key 2 out rbi hit
  8. Nice swing and hit by Mayer. Can he get there consistently and become a factor ?
  9. Two possibilities: Yoshi is either tradable with the Sox picking up 90% of his contract, which they have to anyway, or no one wants him ( more likely). At that point just, DFA or work a reverse deal with a Japanese team if that is allowed. IMO, there will be either no or a greatly diminished 2027 , so a lot depends on how contracts are either extended or ignored in the future CBA. JH is counting on contracts like Yoshida's to just evaporate in the remnant of the 2027 season
  10. Good question , hard to answer in reality but try this: DFA ( assumes can't trade) Yoshida for a RHH DH, upgrade from Monasterio ( use a possibly a refurbished Romy G.,), , Move Wong and go with Gasper/Narvaez behind the plate , ,add OF/1Bman to bench. Still will need to make room for Story when/if he returns so maybe Mayer goes to AAA if his hitting stays cold . So Romy and OF/1B are 2 of the 4 bats , Story and Monasterio's replacement are the other 2. This is not the result desired in terms of adding 4 real hitters but the team still needs to just play out this season . Note that Casass could become the DH but I truly do not expect him on the team actively until rosters expand in September .
  11. Start of a streak of wins at Fenway or a fizzling dud on the launch pad ? De Grom and our own Ranger fairly evenly matched .
  12. Take a laugher, especially at Fenway, when you can get one. Previous attempts at starting a streak have fizzled but maybe this is the one
  13. Very surprised we have not acquired Leiter. Looks like our kind of guy
  14. Although if any team can do something with Bello (questionable), then his contract for a bulk innings pitcher or #5 starter is not terrible at about $9 million per.
  15. Gray just getting warmed up, he will be good next inning
  16. No Boston player I recall , except Whitlock recently, returned at the end of the IL period . Neither was any player beset with a lesser injury than first imagined.
  17. No, that would be the Angels with Trout and especially Jo Adell
  18. If Bennett and Early are throwing as hard as they can , and if that defines success in MLB ( big ifs), then neither has a great future. Now Tolle does throw a few mph higher, so he's our guy Now what is the chance that Crochet has a lifetime shoulder inflammation or sore lat from his 2026 workload at peak effort. One thing he does have is a nice contract to live off, forever
  19. Crochet may actually miss through August with his not so low grade lat strain. Talk about a season down the drain
  20. Low bar set by himself but if we could see that incremental improvement all around , it would be easier to root for these guys. Maybe Rafaela is doing that but still very streaky as is Duran.
  21. Sorry for being a broken record but Henry knows '27 is very questionable while '26 is lost as is his 2 best drawing cards (RA & GC). So no drastic moves with Bres nor Tracy. The trade deadline will be prospects only, dump any '27++ contracts if possible
  22. With Doubles Durbin 2nd yard shot, it reinforces my thought on sending Slaten away for training. No excuses
