It is time for the bats to get working and pound out an easy victory for the team and Bennett . The BP is reasonably well set up to close this series with a win and go into an off day. A win today also guarantees a .500 season which in the old days of the 50's and 60's would have been an achievement. Now it is a minimum requirement which was not achieved a couple times in the past 5 years -

Somewhere along the line Bello got afraid of throwing strikes because he was getting hit by them, so he shied away. Hence the first inning yips, but not today

An insight to Bello. He is throwing a 4 inning shutout against the least winning AL team and he is over 80 pitches. He just has limited control and consequently as a Starter he is a BP burner . The Sox should still win this one

Basically information on the MLB Red Sox.com site a few weeks ago transitioned from the lat issue to a rotator cuff mention . I don’t have a specific citation but the inference was the shoulder structure was irritating the cuff. Obviously none of us have any true knowledge and the MLB updates are late and weak in details. Some others here may have seen similar or more info and can share. The big point is that we don't know yet what Crochet can do or if he may have a chronic issue. My question stems from why would shoulder fatigue and a lat (soft tissue) injury take 5 months to heal .?

Well, Yoshi won't be there in 2028 in any case, so I do think he will be under contract in '27 unless the Sox give him away and pay the price which they must anyway. And it may be a short season . I would wait, like the Sox will do until the CBA is done. then sign the best available power oriented DH available by FA or trade. A Suitable short season DH. including Yoshi. may be OK for '27 but not my first choice

Sox do not know if Crochet can be a #1 again. Why was he out for a virtual. if not actual full season? If the rotator cuff is damaged by an arthritic shoulder structure, Garrett may never pitch 150 innings again without more surgery. To expect Crochet to be the number one is like expecting Crawford to be a #3 I would trust Houck more than these 2, and Tanner probably is a 3/4 Bello doesn't enter the discussion because he is mentally under developed
