  1. 3 soft GBs on the 3rd. Not even loud outs nor working the pitchet
  2. Why do Sox batters think they can call pitches ? Maybe because walks may be their only ticket to 1B
  3. The 2 strikeouts by Abreu and Contreras negated any hope of a run
  4. Tolle immediately gives up the HR A leadiff hitter showing power.... a novel idea
  5. By making and oft repeating that Tracy and his coaches are INTERIM Breslow immediately neuters any power or changes Chad may think necessary. One more poor decision by the master of disaster
  6. IKF signed for 1 year at $6 million, plus Duran's negotiated $7.7 million are producing nothing for 2 veteran players. Please note Duran is no longer young but should be in his prime 29/30 year old season
  7. Even if you watched and checked the details daily, you would not be encouraged. They are leaderless, directionless and incompetent with a bat in their hand. The pitching has been superb, capable of winning 10 more games than they have achieved. The hitting is non-existent. This was predictable since the last 10 days of ST when this team's batters went into a funk that has now lasted a month and a half. Breslow needs to cure his f*** up quick.
  8. Sox get beat by Schwarber the prior series and then Yazstremski in the opener at Atlanta. No s***. Tell me something new.
  9. Going to a restaurant called the Gambling Cowboy in a few. Going to get odds on the Sox chance of winning this ( or any other) ballgame.
  10. Harris fouls off 3 straight FBs with 2 strikes. Hits a 4th one about 400' Think about calling the pitches a little smarter or executing them better. Sox hitters do not square up FBs like other teams seem to
  11. Gasper trying to steal? Out by 5' . Doesn't look like a great accelerator
  12. Abreu drills a foul "HR" then goes ahead and Ks. When it is going against you, there is no mercy
  13. Early somewhat settled in and reducing his per inning pitch count. Maybe he can get 6 innings and hold it to 1-0 .
  14. At which bank can you deposit all the runs they are saving ?
  15. Including pulling his head off the ball and opening up too much. Duran is fixable but it would take a good coach and a serious effort on DURAN's part to change his approach. The 2 HRs may have convinced him to swing hard and up angle.
  16. How many soft bouncers, with MoB, can our batters hit back to the opposing pitcher ? Lots
  17. The FO failure to cash its check on Duran's value 2 off seasons ago would have been the right move, or at least this past off-season. They missed a potential big gain. Yet for all the experience and data available, a good baseball evaluator would have predicted a decline for Duran who never really had star potential as he approached 30 . I like watching his effort but this decline was predictable . The fact that the organization cannot get him on track is another coaching shortcoming.
  18. Story needed a rest day to give himself a psych evaluation. Yoshida is slow to get the message that he should just ask for a transfer back to the Japanese league. On a serious note, is Sox management ( FO) willing to just play out the next month to see if the poor hitting will self correct for guys like Duran, Story, Durbin or do the " analysts" have the guts to tell Craig : Do something !
  19. Looking at the spray chart, of RA's 25 hits this year, 10 did not leave the infield, including a double. In a season where the Sox really needed a pure hitter , Anthony failed to come through so far. The trouble is that when he finally heals, he'll still need time to get back to speed and if that is by May 31 , the Sox may be 10 games out of WC race.
  20. The Sox do get very negative results from potential run scoring setups. Low results from RISP siuations, failure to get balls through drawn in infields, Ks, no flyball SF. They have figured out how to waste excellent pitching.
  21. How does Jim Rice keep a straight face on NESN postgame shows. Papelbon is more generous with trashing them. How about a broadcast where the Analytics department explains the reasons for deviations from the mean
  22. Remember when no one could wait for Mayer to assault the Bigs , then it was Anthony . The reality is that the Sox havr not graduated a true stud to the parent team
