  1. Hamilton seems to be a real player with maybe some upside or at least a strong bench contribution on a winning team. I'd rather have Hamilton than some of the wild ones pretending they are ready, when they are a long ways away from MLB players.
  2. Agreed, the reasoning was correct at the time of the deal, however, was it essential to give the Braves huge salary coverage for Sale. Not that it might have benefited the Red Sox roster, only JH's balance sheet. Grissom came with years of control, was cheap and an answer at 2B. All understandable. But Sale was a competitor and Grissom is not.
  3. Abreu swings and misses a pitch that most LH hitters blast about 400' I would tend to make him available in a trade.
  4. Duran was my pick of a player to follow when the season started. He continues to do his job very well. O'Neill's hot streak lasted exactly one game. Don't tell me he is any kind of ass-et
  5. Agree, that use of Kenley was bizarre unless they are showcasing him for the Dodgers , who know him well. Shot that idea down. Regrettably we never know what the condition of all the players are. Maybe Kelly has a hangnail. or Horn got real tired quick
  6. I would rather lose big , like today, than get nibbled to death like yesterday. Jansen is shot now and I hope we don not need a closer on Colorado, because , Kenley is gassed for a few days.
  7. As I said yesterday, has Kenley ever had a clean inning? I'm sure he has, I just haven't seen it.
  8. Kudos to Rafaela for having the skill to be a decent SS and very good Cf'er. Just learn a few more basics/fundamentals like covering the base.
  9. That $17 million may have been the worst part of the trade . Not that the Sox would have necessarily used the money, it's the principle of being stupid.
  10. I guess Kenley called AC in the dugout, and sang a little Centerfield by John Fogarty . So Jansen is now in mop-up duty. One good thing today is that the Sox will only need to get 24 outs instead of the unreachable 27
  11. Refsnyder apparently is sore after yesterday's physical game. He did dive for a couple balls.
  12. Abreu, the natural born rally killer on a team full of them, excusing Duran and Wong. Wilyer couldn't have just K'ed again. Devers and O'Neil combined for 5K's in 7 AB's
  13. I think HBP should be a 2 base award to compensate for the pain and risk of broken anythings
  14. First , he was injured/recovering, then he sucked
  15. You don't know how tempted I was to say 4th on the Red Sox too.
  16. Don't lose sight of the fact that Boston is still playing a number of guys who probably should still be in Worcester, including Abreu, Westbrook, even Hamilton. If Story stayed upright, Grissom was a real player and Casas was healthy, then this team would present a little differently. Martin, Slaten, Giolito, Whitlock , Slaten in an ideal world would be pitching
  17. Instead of the 2 or 3rd best on the Sox ?
  18. Now, the team needs to sweep the Rockies in an HR park to even up the trip. These first 10 games ( 67 down to 57 to go) could be a mess if they don't turn it around. maybe, Tanner Houck can pitch again
  19. Why does Kutter look befuddled that he has to keep asking for a new ball to replace the one just knocked over the fence. He is crap tonight. 5HR's
  20. 7 K's out of 15 outs by a soft toss Lh'er. What's new? The good news is that one swing of O'Neill's bat and we can take the lead, if and when 2 guys are on base in front of him
  21. 3 HR's before the 1st out of the 4th. Nice try Kutter, just not our day nor series, nor West Coast trip
  22. We should trade him while his stock is high . We have plenty of faces hanging around
  23. Leaving the runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs, SMH. The next hitter invariably K's and the last hitter makes contact that would have scored the run
  24. It is never over nor easy with these guys
  25. Memo posted in Sox pitcher's lockers: 1. It takes 3 strikes to get a K ; 2. Do not give Freeman a meatball. 3. It takes 3 outs to get back to the dugout, not 2.
