  1. So Romy jumped paxton for a double and MVP Duran took him downtown for a quick lead. Omen for a great game ?? Sure hope so.
  2. Managerial tip for Boston: You could lose the game in the first 6 innings but you cannot win it unless you are ahead when the 27th out is recorded.
  3. I'll be looking to see what Romy G. does in the leadoff spot. He has not looked real good in his last 7, going 1 for 15 with 6 K's and 0 walks. Kutter will need another very good start to give this lineup a chance. Westbrook at 2nd tells you all you need to know Maybe O'Neill is on a streak, maybe Devers needs to get his going again. He can carry them to a win if he's right To say that today's game will be very important to this team is Capt Obvious.
  4. Is it Abreu who may be the frosting on the cake in a big deal to get SP/RP and/or a RH hitting 1Bman? Big potential, cost controlled, but seemingly prone to mistakes and limited pitch recognition. Undisciplined swings and throws from RF.
  5. Not proposing it, but what would this group say if Breslow blew up this team to set it up better for 2025/26 ? Sell off O'Neill, Jansen, Pivetta, Winckowski, etc. Yoshida's contract and limitations make him unsalable, Martin has downgraded himself, Story's injury history, Grissom's unavailabilty all are limiting factors in making significant moves . Can you get another young starter, RP and RH hitter for any of these guys ?
  6. You were right then and still right now. Don't let the statmasters fool you. Like many , he can get 2 strikes on most hitters and usually 2 outs in an inning but he cannot close the deal in any inning. That's why he has blown 4 of 5 save opportunities.
  7. The 11th inning was pure surrender by leaving Weissert in, but there's a game to be played tomorrow. One thing about the 11th, if the visiting team fails to score ( See Red Sox) then the home team has theoretically 6 outs to score one or more runs, with a man on second /no outs twice.. It's a bit lopsided in terms of win percentage.
  8. Wilyer is next on the list of guys who have a lot to learn. Lucky he didn't get K'ed on a pitch that hit him.
  9. Two consecutive blown saves, with a guaranteed 2nd extra inning coming up..
  10. Weissert is still not the answer to any question I know. He is great at getting to 2 strikes , then folds like a tent. When did Kike learn not to chase. Surely wasn't in Boston. f*** this BP with Martin and Slaten out.
  11. Keep noticing how Jansen rarely has a clean inning. As Max says, he throws the same pitch over and over, but gets away with it often. Weissert trying to end it. He is 1 for 4 in save attempts.
  12. Well, Tyler responded well to being called out for slumping like wet cement . Good for the team because they now really need this game.
  13. Our well rested closer grooved one to his asswipe buddy, Kike
  14. And it is not the pitch count. He needs a lot of work over the next winter to be able to reach 100 pitches/6-7 innings
  15. Winckowski better find a DP ball in his hand. He is no longer a reliable out getter. He became a nibbler Ok, so he got the DP, but it was a poor flip to Wong
  16. 6 Very tough outs to go. Need a 3 run Jack this inning
  17. Tyler O'Neill , one of the truly great RH power hitters on the Red Sox team come through to regain the lead. My man responds well to negative comments
  18. Predictable 2 strike hit by Hernandez . Getting really tired of Abreu's little league play in RF with his wild ass throws. That will cost another run in a moment
  19. Smokin' Joe Kelly feeds the Red Sox another LOBster inning
  20. I'm dying, waiting for O'Neill's hot streak to start. leaves Duran at 3rd . Tyler is K'ing at a huge rate
  21. Nobody told Roberts that Wrobie can't get the win or quality start if he pulls him this early. But Dave got what he wanted , a shutout start through 4.1
  22. Had O'Neill been in Fenway , he would have been applauded for a double off the wall scoring 1 and maybe 2 . But he was in LA
  23. Gonzalez helps Wrobleski by chasing high pitches.
  24. The 3rd inning offense may have been more spectacular than 1st and 2nd combined. Ref couldn't move Cedanne to 3rd, what happened to him and Lh'ers? Then Cedanne gets thrown out going to 3rd on a fly to left leaving Raffy on deck with 2 on. Baserunning booboos
