  1. I say over by a hair. But that may not be enough. If we blow this game, the Yanks (rained out) will be 2 out in the loss column.
  2. Sale was about to get out of the inning with 53 pitches... ended up getting out alright but with 73 pitches. Get that bull pen ready.
  3. So, we all do agree with Cora's and Price's anger then. I agree: screw the Orioles for this.
  4. I thought that might be true last nite when I said this... but you're report is the first time I heard it. So now i feel a wee bit better about the lost night in Baltimore... and the lost homers.
  5. Yup, not good situational baseball. Esp true with JBJ because you know his speed will allow him to score on any type of single.
  6. Another anger point in the rain-out last night is that the players waited around two hours for it to be called but right after that it cleared up and no more rain was predicted. Why didn't they wait 30 minutes more? Or even start play in the lighter rain before 30 minutes.
  7. Yes, because we scored on the single out... the second came after the score. That's one for Betts after he lost 3 last night.
  8. The forecast is cloudy... possible a draining problem. If they waited as long as they did, what's 30 minutes more. Oh well, at least the team gets to go home and get rested for tomorrow night.
  9. If the game resumes, they should get it in because there's no rain once these heavy downpours lose steam. So, it depends how long they wait, and whether the field drains okay.
  10. It seems like we rarely sign our rentals. If true, it's because free agents tend to get overpaid... but it does depend on the market. Eovaldi has also had two tommy john surgeries.
  11. It looks like this monsoon thing is going to happen all over again starting next weekend. Look to more interrupted and postponed games.
  12. Looks very bad, according to the hourly reports online. Nothing possible til about 10:30 or later. But who knows with this monsoon stuff... it doesn't hit everywhere in a city equally.
  13. That's funny. And true.
  14. One consolation should this game continue.. If Britton is on the way to the Yanks as Jackson has reported then we won't have to face him tonite. which wd make two consolations if the game continuance is the first
  15. I think the yanks are 6-1 against Guardians, and we have 7 games coming up against them. I doubt we'll match that. And in recent past the Yanks have done better vs the Os than we have. (according to my subjective memory which I think is fairly accurate) The anger isn't in losing this game but in the way it has been lost (should it not continue)
  16. Bad ass game... giving the lead right back after a couple of surprising "game winning" homers, and then the rains come with martinez at the plate. May they wait forever to get this one in.... tomorrow's game prob a wash out anyway.
  17. Refusal to adjust, you mean... thus the talk about ending the shift
  18. I think one issue with it from a league point of view is that way fewer balls are being put in play, and trying to lift the ball over the shift, rather than hit the other way, causes bad baseball swings, and more strikeouts.
  19. Will outlawing the shift bring back ball contact baseball. Too many strikeouts are not fun. Yeah the launching angle swing is killing Davis and many other hitters. maybe Sanchez too
  20. True, but I think there are leg exercises that don't involve the feet, or at least the one ankle. And originally i heard the boot was only 15 days. Has this been lengthened?
  21. Gary Sanchez on 10-day disable list. Is this to cover his ass or to punish him?? Take a guess. But probably both motives are in place.
  22. It looks like the start of this game might be delayed for well over an hour, but around 8:30 to 9:00 it looks like no rain for quite awhile. But these monsoon rains are hard to figure. We should get the game in, tho, unless the field is a total mess from earlier downpours.
  23. I think who we trade for comes down to the Final Days of the trade deadline. Only then will costs be actually determined... all is talk and jockeying until then. If the price is right for a need, Move, if not Stay Put. And then there are the August chances to get a waivers guy. I think unless the Yanks are like 9 games behind at month's end, they do make a big move (can now include Gary Sanchez) Otherwise, they stay put, hang on to their big prospects, and concentrate on winning the Play-In game.
  24. he drops to .187 and Rays beat Severino Great night for us. Thanks Alvarado.
  25. I hope the Rays game doesn't go extra innings. The Rays have used 8 pitchers in 8 innings. It's almost like the whole pitching staff pitches every night. Very democratic.
