  1. Who's going to replace him? Johnson will need to replace Sale.
  2. I agree. And I think this sums up the picture. Last night, there were reports that the Guardians were in on Harper, but this news fizzled.
  3. Yeah, Devers was listed as 195 pounds a year ago... he's now 237. That's a concern, for sure, but it's the first time I heard about this weight jump, and had to double check the 237 figure.
  4. Now Herrara gets a chance to Atone.
  5. Letting down Price, letting down Holt.
  6. I second that. Oops, did I speak too soon.
  7. Mookie should have taken the All-Star game off.. maybe he needed a good rest rather than all the hoopla and national stage stuff.
  8. If this is their last pitching move, then I think we might be fine, even with no more moves.
  9. Nellie Fox, Rod Carew, Ty Cobb, Hunter Pence, Joey Votto, Barry Bonds----and yes Bucky Dent all were or are choke-up hitters. There were many more in bygone days but there are a few today who occasionally do and Pence and Votto often do. Maybe this is what we need tonight.
  10. I see the Phils got Cabrera from the Mets. I wonder what the price was. DH is a good position for him.
  11. It looks that way. They got 3 pitchers... the once closer Ken Giles, David Paulino (top prospect with a PED 80 day suspension behind him now) and Hector Perez, 22 years old and the Astros no. 10 prospect. Paulino is probably the key if he can turn his life around.
  12. It's 98% a male issue and the other 2% have finally found a way to fight back--and make the head-lines when they do, which is why men can say "they do it too." Maybe the poster should have said that Osuna has a problem with females or with those who dare talk back.
  13. Thanks for the correction. But I do think this is the way it works in the MLB, and this is esp true in this historically unprecedented race. There's a hell of a lot riding on it, which is why both teams will win over 100 games. I still think the Yanks could shock with some blockbuster trade to get a big starter who is more than a rental, and who will cost the Yanks 2-4 top prospects. We'll see in the next 48 hours.
  14. The Yankees got Happ, we countered with Eovaldi. If the Yanks make another substantive move, I bet we counter with at least one important move.
  15. K.C. put up a great fight in the 9th vs Chapman, but lost. Too bad.
  16. 4 runs should do it
  17. Too bad. this sweep would have made the KC season. Looks like a sure Loss now.
  18. Yippee! KC may sweep this double-header. Wowie-zowie
  19. "Pipe dream" I like that. It was a common phrase in my youth, but have not heard it in some time.
  20. Bad at bat inning for Sox... Odorizzi threw only 6-7 pitches at a moment when he was at 48 after two.
  21. OK now let's give Thornburg a win here.
  22. Well, if Rodney is their stopper, I'm sure they do.
  23. Doesn't Kimbrel have a history of not doing well in these 8th inning appearance games. I'm not sure about the pattern, but am sure of a few disasters.
  24. All's been horrible since that 5-0 rain-out.
