  1. A's could overtake Houston. Which means Houston-Yanks in play-in game. And you know who pitches for Houston in that game.
  2. If Bogaerts were hitting 3rd tonight, we would have 5 straight hitters from 8-3 with B names.
  3. Who is Randa?? Didn't he retire? Sorry, just recall he scored the winning run vs Yanks
  4. Then, this thread will be quite active in Oct., I surmise.
  5. Question is the Play-in winner the automatic 4th seed or does better record trump division winner (Cleveland)? If it is automatic, we pretty much know the match-ups for the semis. Sox vs Yanks Houston vs Guardians.
  6. Perhaps the Yanks main concerns right now are to be certain to win home field for the Play-in game. And try to decide whether they want Severino or Tanaka as their starter in that game. Tough choice right now.
  7. Ha. But the magic number is now 42.
  8. 10 Runs on 9 hits. sounds like the Orioles of other years. and what an extreme reversal from last year's homer output.
  9. Ha ha "modify"
  10. Koji was the best. He was tuned into the gods.
  11. Interesting. Will have to look into this... i just recalled that he has no interest in self-promotion on behalf of himself or the League... but only wants to concentrate on his game. Not worth an MVP, but I do like his independent, screw commercialism attitude
  12. Can you sum that reputation up in a few words. Is he an ex-choir boy or something.
  13. That's not bad at all.. I guess when it gets into the 20s, the media will take note.
  14. JD could still win the Triple Crown.
  15. Okay so what's our magic number??? Maybe we can minus 2 it tonite.
  16. The clean up hitter cleans up. hint hint
  17. I like our 8th inning chances better than our 9th, but neither look too promising
  18. Switching Pom and Johnson would solve the left-handed reliever shortage.
  19. I would think the high and low pitches would be hardest to nail, and also hard to be consistent with.
  20. Maybe it's all this endless humidity in the northeast...
  21. That's an interesting comparison... could run a 100 page thread with.
  22. That's funny. But sometimes it does feel that way... esp with some the lineups we put out there at times.
  23. So, we can go 92% to sleep on them. Still says they win 100 though. (the Orioles this year only-yes)
  24. The Yanks remaining schedule has only three winning teams on it.. 3 vs Oakland, 3 vs Seattle and 6 with us. I think that at least should win them the Play-in game. But I wouldn't go totally to sleep on them just yet. I still predict they will win a minimum of 100 games (unless at some point wins become meaningless in mid or late Sept)
  25. I don't think so. The way he pounded the strike zone was unreal. That game was done in 2:15... this one's almost that and it's in the 5th inning. (he recorded only 2 balls per inning--amazing)
