They might, but the whole point is that many of the Yanks hitters have been under-performing... so these two rookies can take a breath when the big boys return to form, and what's more Scranton is loaded with good hitters that the Yanks can call on anytime (terrific hitting depth)
I was just about to say this. Also Eastern teams have the more travel friendly schedules than most other teams. Fatigue may be a factor but why... no extra-inning games etc
Well, there's no hind-sight for some of us, because we called it before any walk was given (on the game forum). No manager would bring in the newly arrived Scott in this context. None. Esp right after a day off (i mean how much rest does this effing team need?) and just after tying the game at 2-2 in the top of the 8th. It's time for the your shut down guy, who 85% of the time (Kelly) will come through. Scott needs to come in for the first time in a blowout or in the 5-6th innings.
Yeah, his knee is probably keeping his hitting down bay about 25-30 points, and hurting his fielding a little too, but he's healthier than Pedey, so he plays. Like Cora, I like him.
It's even worse for Jacob DeGrom. Todd Frazier actually went up to him after his last 1-0 game and offered his apologies on behalf of the team for failing him in game after game.
I think we can thank Juan Soto for beating the Yanks three times since coming up. They have another kid even better than him (CF) still in the minors, so maybe it's so-long to Harper.
