If Degrom can get 5 years and Turner 11, someone is going to give Bogaerts 8-9.
The problem is, you’re bidding against every other team in baseball. Someone is always going to act irrationally and give the extra year. There’s value in a assigning value and holding your line, but if you try to act too rationally 100% of the time you’ll be left out in the cold with scraps.
