  1. Bringing back Matz and Refsnyder are two smaller ancillary moves that should happen and could both happen quickly while the bigger names sift through offers and pit teams against each other…
  2. I can understand not wanting to rely on Sale for his age 37 season. But on what planet is a pitcher with over 10 bWAR in the last 2 season NOT a #2 pitcher?
  3. Talk everywhere else is the Astros have no interest in dealing Paredes https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/11/astros-gm-no-interest-in-trading-isaac-paredes.html
  4. Because ther need offense and the guy can hit and Schwarber doesn’t play the infield?
  5. 11 out of 10, according to my non-existent sources
  6. But I’ve already gotten Breslow and Dombrowski together to agree on a deal of Harrison for 3b Alec Bohm. I don’t know why I did that. Just bored I guess. Anyway, that means Harrison is spoken for…
  7. On most teams, that is what happens…
  8. Or.. why not keep him since the Sox need offense, he can hit, and very few hitters cost $4-5mill?
  9. Mike Bielecki!?!? Cred…
  10. I’m just saying there’s precedent. I’m still on the “Yoshida is my DH” train. But I don’t think Breslow is…
  11. Thats one of those trades that’s probably fair, but I’d be hesitant to include Tolle (or Early)…
  12. True but he lost his 40 man roster spot. Yoshida can be demoted without touching it…
  13. Actually they can. Without waiving him. Yoshida does not have the 5+ years of service time that allows him to refuse assignment and he has 3 options left. The only issue could be if he has a clause in his contract prohibiting demotion, which is fairly common but not standard among NPB free agents…
  14. The Sox paid Sandoval $18mill to play in another organization’s minor league system while he gorged himself on hot dogs. So, ya know, precedent…
  15. Kim is a very good player who posted back to back 5 WAR seasons before getting injured in 2024. But if I were a predicting man, and I am albeit not good at it, I would predict Mayer at 2b and Alec Bohm at 3b. And I’m not wild about Bohm. But he is available and Philly should have interest in Duran. So a deal is possible (Not a 1 for 1 deal. That should be impossible. Duran for Bohm plus stuff better than Bohm.)
  16. I like him as a hitter, although he hasn’t been as much as I hoped for. If he gets demoted for performance reasons, I would hope Japanese players understand they have to keep their jobs. It’s not like Dominican players stared avoiding Boston after they released Pablo and Hanley. The “problem” with Yoshida is, he’s actually too good to demote. That and many fans want to give a portion of his salary to someone else, who fans will undoubtedly want to pay someone else to take away in a couple years. In 2024, Yoshida had an .825 OPS in mid-August before he fell off a cliff. Probably when his shoulder tear happened. If he is going to give an .825 OPS, he should just be in the DH mix…
  17. I like Helsley over Williams. But Helsley probably wants to close. Maybe a multiyear deal at closer money and he takes over the role next year or, if Chapman loses it, even sooner…
  18. He changed it to Avogadro’s number back in ‘19…
  19. And Casas at 1b? If he’s healthy, he makes for a good solution. If…
  20. I liked King, but he’s hard to commit to long term and he has a QO attached…
  21. Why not just send Yoshida to Worcester and keep the prospects?
  22. No on Torres, especially with the QO. Polanco and Kim are both good choices….
