  1. Pivetta delivered 6 shutout innings against the NL West leading Dodgers in his start before that one. I take it that’s forgotten not
  2. Not really. Westbrook is 31 years old and in his first season. In order to get on a HOF ballot, a player needs a minimum of 10 seasons in his career, meaning Westbrook would have to play until he was 41, an age much less than 1% of ball players reach while active. Grissom (23) and Hamilton (26) could both achieve this requirement at a more realistic ages…
  3. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more trades like this - two buyers swapping their depth with each other. It’s trickier, because certain stars have to align for it to happen. A couple years ago, the Phillies and Angels made a fun swap of Brandon Marsh for Logan O’Hoppe. It was one of those depth for depth deals that made so much sense, no one saw it coming…
  4. If you go to a six man rotation to give additional rest to yours starters, you defeat the purpose by having them go more IP per start. For example for simple math, look at a 60 game stretch. If a five man rotation goes 5 IP per start, each starter makes 12 starts and pitches 60 IP each. A six man rotation going 6 IP per start would make 10 starts each and pitch 60 IP each.
  5. To AZ: AJ Puk To Mia: Deybison De Los Santos, Andrew Pintar
  6. Some people would be insisting the Sox go into Sell Mode and deal Sale, probably for an actual second baseman like that kid in the Braves’ organization whose been tearing up AAA…
  7. Teams constantly discuss the six man rotation, but no one ever adopts it for an extended stretch. Probably because while it helps the starters, it can wear down the bilullpen…
  8. This needs endless discussion!!
  9. Gee, wait. Are you saying the Sox trade of Sale didn't work out and that Giolito getting hurt has caused depth issues in the Sox rotation? How come no one has discussed this endlessly and repeatedly before? You need to get this stuff out on a press release!! Time's a wastin'!!
  10. I'm not entirely sure being in the Top Ten of the White Sox farm is a huge honor and a precursor to a bright future...
  11. But if the Sox kept him, no way does he win the NL Cy Young...
  12. Well he already received his mail there…
  13. Dylan Cease last 3 games 22IP, 30K, 2H…
  14. Some of them won an All Star game…
  15. A glorified Niko Kavadas…
  16. If only Mark Portugal was still active…
  17. I like that Abreu and Fedde are close on BTV and could see that working out for both teams. Especially if the White Sox don’t move Crochet. But ultimately, I think Tyler Anderson is in the Sox immediate future. BTV hates him, so not sure what he’s worth. I’ll start the bidding with Nick Yorke…
  18. I’ll take that wager. I think Dipoto has done a good job for that organization and a lot of his team’s issues start with the struggles of JRod. I don’t think his job is in danger unless he does something insane like trade one of his young starters in Miller or Woo plus a reliever for Tyler O’Neill and Romy Gonzalez. But if they do want to deal a starter for some bats, I could see Bryan Woo (37.5) to Baltimore for Heston Kjerstad (34) as making a ton of sense for both teams…
  19. Baltimore is a much better matchup than Boston. If Seattle is willing to deal one of their young starters, dealing Miller for someone like Colby Mayo or Sam Bassallo…
  20. The Sox could at least give France a week-ish long tryout and DFA him on August 1 if something better does come along…
  21. I would imagine DiPoto would turn that down almost immediately, as his job definitely involves building next year’s team as well and he has to keep an eye on the future. I don’t think Abreu gets you any of the Seattle starters. O’Neill just isn’t worth enough. Gonzalez add nothing to the trade package. ..
  22. Do we really need more outfielders? Just get Canha from Detroit and platoon him at 1b with Smith…
  23. Fair point. If the Sox have faith in Bleis, it would be selling him low…
  24. With Campbell and Montgomery, the Sox OF depth feels semi-secure. SS feels exposed, although I’m confident Romero can fill Story’s shoes on the Injured List. Not sure who lines up between second and third next year…
  25. I was thinking no on Crochet due to the injury history and lesser control. What don’t you like about Bryce? Also, any other decent candidates? I’m drawing a blank…
