    You left out the words “more serious”. I can name numerous pitchers who injured themselves pitching in such a fashion that it ended their careers prematurely.     This whole “we need a right-handed bat!!” is such a BS smokescreen. The Sox had a higher OPS vs left-handed pitching than the AL champion Yankees did. Fix the defense. Team is 13th in OPS against lefties and the Sox need to get right handed hitting STAT!! But they’re 23rd in OAA and that’s not an issue…

    Soto has more walks than strikeouts for his career. Since he joined the league, only three hitters with qualified amount of PA have more walks than strikeouts. Soto, Bregman, and Arraez. And only Soto has hit 200HRs while doing so…

    My rankings are as follows 1. Carson Kelly 2. Christian Vazquez 3. Nick Fortes - listed by MLBTR as a non-tender candidate. 4. Kyle Higashioka. Decent framing. Weak blocking. All are defensive upgrades over Wong. Wong’s bat and versatility does give him some usefulness and some trade value if the Sox pursue a pair of catchers.

    The money is higher than preferred, but a reunion with Christian Vazquez does make sense. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/christian-vazquez-543877 Minnesota is cutting salary, but Vazquez only has one year left. So while he will be blocking pitches, he won’t be blocking Teel. His BTV surplus value of negative $4.3mill doesn’t suggest a trade will be costly…
