We'd all like top see JBJ become more consistent, but what does that really mean? Most of the non - elite hitters in MLB have bad months and have their season carrIed by the one or two good ones. The guy bats eighth or ninth. Even if he struggles all year out doesn't figure to be too detrimental....

They traded the starting DH from the All Star game making just under $6mill last year and received a $5.5mill reliever valued at 1. 7fWAR over the past 6 years (less than the immortal Alex Claudio last year alone) and an infielder who didn't crack the top 28 in the Pittsburgh prospects rankings. And a small amount of cashn You sure they didn't give him away?

He Might be the Sox best trade bait, considering his rank, skills, proximity to the majors, and that 1b is the only position on the Sox he can play that isn't locked up by a young, talented, homegrown player with multiple years of control. ..

Who ranked Brannen that high? I can't find a single source that has ranked him at all, let alone as the fifth best non-pitching prospect. That really doesn't mean anything about his future, but it does mean two things. 1. He is extremely unlikely to make the majors next year. 2. In no way should the Sox move Bradley anytime soon to clear a path for him.
