  1. Keller looks like he may be a pretty decent pitcher. Threw a complete game last time out against Seattle in a 1-0 loss. It will interesting to see how he fares the second time around the league.
  2. Red Sox #3 pitchers are supposed to throw shutouts every time, didn't you know that?
  3. Looked like another cutter that was crushed. If that got past Price JBJ may have been able to catch it.
  4. Couple of at'em balls so far. Might be Keller's night.
  5. That one might have been out at Fenway; might have wrapped around the pole.
  6. Solo shots don't bother me. No different than giving up 3 straight singles (better actually, with singles you still have guys on base). It's the 3 run shots that kill you.
  7. Disagree. Perez made a great play and a perfect throw.
  8. Wasn't exactly roped, just hit in a good spot (from Duda's POV).
  9. Sale needs to learn to pitch to some contact, especially with big leads. Trying to strike everyone out does not help his stamina late in the year.
  10. Well, that double will remove the issue of a possible no-hitter factoring in.
  11. The Royals were never a Yankee farm club. The old Kansas City Athletics on the other hand ...
  12. It’s a “what if the Red Sox were in Miami Marlins mode” fantasy piece. Not meant to be serious.
  13. Sounds like a wonderful day. We had tentative plans to take in a game tonight at our local minor league park but with heat indices headed for 105 into the early evening, that's not happening. We had our main fireworks display here last night; they fire them up from a couple of barges on the Mississippi River. Great show. Unfortunately, it was a tragic event for one group of people. They were watching the show when a large tree limb from an old oak came down (no wind, it just decided it was time). One person was killed and five others injured. Definitely puts everything in perspective (I didn't see it, it was a few blocks away). Be safe and have fun everyone.
  14. Agree. He has a presence back there; he’s running the game. Vazquez has more talent but he never looks in charge.
  15. He probably could use a day off. He's played in 82 of the 86 games, and at least a couple of the misses were very early in the season.
  16. Their midweek crews are okay. Eduardo Perez (in the booth tonight) does a nice job. I have always enjoyed Herschiser on the Wednesday game. Both offer decent player insights and pick up on little things.
  17. Votto is a 10-5 guy; he goes nowhere unless he wants to, and everything I’ve read indicates he LOVES playing in Cincinnati.
  18. Really sad thing is the 11 runs last night might not be enough in this one.
  19. LOL doesn’t apply to Natick. A very sad shaking of the head perhaps.
  20. Thankfully only 12. Yankees won’t bat in the 9th.
  21. Haley is the last guy in the pen. What he allows or doesn’t allow at this point is utterly irrelevent.
  22. If I’m Cora there is no way Price EVER throws another pitch in Yankee Stadium. His turn comes up again, I’ll start Johnson or Velasquez or maybe Moreland at pitcher before Price.
