  1. Yep, but we need him back healthy.
  2. That's easy; Swihart will play all nine positions, like in that Bugs Bunny cartoon. They can DFA everyone else.
  3. Well at least this inning gets Swihart out of the way. Not showing much tonight.
  4. It's really just two nattering nabobs of negativism who simply aren't happy unless they aren't happy.
  5. Tonight really wasn't that bad; far better than recent outings. Correa hit the snot out of it but it isn't the first time he's done that and it won't be the last. The two runs in the 4th had a huge element of bad Sox luck or good Houston fortune in them.
  6. Good inning by Pomeranz there.
  7. He's best when he doesn't have time to think about making a play and he only has time to just react.
  8. Why don't you do it? You have all the answers, I'm sure he would listen to you. Step up.
  9. Behind McCullers, that is a distinct possibility; he's good. I had the pleasurre of seeing both Correa and McCullers here when they were in Low-A ball. You could see they were special players.
  10. Correa crushes a lot of homers. He's a great hitter, it happens. In the 4th, the first hit was hit in a perfect spot. It would have been better for the Sox if the ball to Moreland had been hit harder, he nails him at the plate if it is. The 2nd run came on a perfectly executed bunt.
  11. Yeah, two of those balls were really roped. He's been poor this year, but let's not pretend he's getting knocked all over the ballpark this inning.
  12. At the very least there isn't enough to overturn it.
  13. Live I thought he was out.
  14. Of course the option was an overwhelmingly huge part of the decision. We (fans) have absolutely no idea what else if anything contributed to said decision and to what extent "else" was or was not a factor. It is also a fact that fans know nothing of what really goes on in a clubhouse (which is what I was trying to say); those who think they do are delusional.
  15. Because he didn’t want to use him today if he could help it. He will probably not be available in Houston tomorrow
  16. He’s not a guy I want to use in a tight game late though. Perfect as a long/middle reliever
  17. They do but he’s better off pitching every 5th day in Pawtucket than being the 6th or 7th guy out of the pen in Boston.
  18. He’s still adjusting from being a starter. I doubt he was fully warmed up since they started the 8th with a 2 run lead. If he’s going to pitch out of the pen, he’s got to figure out how to get warm quicker.
  19. He went on his rehab assignment April 30. Pitchers get 30 days max, so I would think he either has to be activated or put back on the DL today or maybe tomorrow. EDIT - He was taken off his rehab assignment on Tuesday without being taken off the DL; he can resume minor league rehab on the 8th
  20. Unless you are also going to give him credit for a really good offense in 2016, yes.
  21. He doesn’t have good instincts. Betts has them; Beni and JBJ not so much. Two of the best runners in recent years were Lowell and Napoli. No speed but they knew when to go and when not to. Ortiz was pretty good as well, especially until what little speed he had left him.
  22. JBJ has some speed but he is not a good base runner. Having said that, if Beni went on his own, he may not have known. That’s a play you have to anticipate; the coach can’t help you there.
  23. Looks like Gaviglio is pounding the outside corner; got to take him up the middle and the other way. He’s gotten them to roll over on 5 ground ball outs.
  24. Truth is we (the fans) have absolutely no idea what happens in the clubhouse. Cora et.al. saw something or some things that raised some concerns. We’ll have to trust their insider judgement on what is/was best for the team.
