  1. Anthony placed that hit. You could see his eyes look right at it and the swing was to hit it right there.
  2. Wilson unlucky on the bloop but has looked bad on both walks.
  3. To be fair, Narvaez’s throw was awful. Still, DH has to do a better job of just knocking that down.
  4. Not to mention how many balls Abreu has cut off down the line or in the gap holding the batter to a single. You know, that voodoo stuff that doesn't show up in the sacred Fielding Percentage.
  5. Not going to go there, but a while back I did paraphrase Colonel Potter: "TYPM, just a guess. Will Rogers never met you, did he?"
  6. Now, to be fair, he thinks anyone who doesn't agree with him is an idiot. KC has played less than 300 innings at ss since he left high school, all last year between Portland and Worcester. He played zero innings there in college, so I guess Danny Hall, Georgia Tech's head baseball coach, is also an idiot.
  7. One would think Eaton and Hamilton are somewhat interchangeable but it appears they will carry both for now. I’m assume Eaton is staying up because he can play 3rd as well as the OF (which might required if Abreu is still hobbled). Hamilton is strictly a middle infield type.
  8. Sox have made a couple roster shifts the past couple days. I. Campbell was sent down yesterday; I haven’t seen anyone announced as coming up yet. Slaten started a rehab assignment so hopefully whoever is called up will not be here very long.
  9. Sure, in the early part of a game. But what do the metrics say in the 8th, 9th or extras when you may only need to add 1 run? Of course, bunting sorta requires the next guy to actually put the ball in play.
  10. I agree on the wrist (which he first hurt in 2022). However, both his 2023 and 2024 seasons were also ended early via injury; one of those years it was a shoulder and the other a back. That each of his 4 professional seasons has ended early due to 3 different type injuries is concerning.
  11. But we were told by multiple experts here that rest days are not necessary.
  12. If you paid attention to the pitching matchup, you wouldn’t have been surprised. This did not favor the Sox. Rigersis a good pitcher. May gave the team a shot, but the pen put it out of reach.
  13. Ted didn’t start it; it started with the Braves in 1948. Sox took over the partnership when the Braves left town and Ted certainly did more than his share to make it grow.
  14. With a 1.47 ERA on the season, he’s done this to a lot of teams this year.
  15. Looks like he held that mess to 1 run scored in that inning. Decent job getting out of it. It may not matter the way Roger’s is throwing tonight, but the game didn’t get away.
  16. May has to keep this to 1 run. Rogers is good and is on tonight.
  17. I think it’s challengeable bit you only get 15 seconds to initiate it; they may not have had that angle showing Gonzalez muffing it that quickly.
  18. Well I can see how this kid has a sub 1.50 ERA and a .81 WHIP. Need some ABs like Story’s to drive up the pitch count and get to their pen.
  19. Oh he knew it, it just didn’t fit his narrative.
  20. You are about to be belittled by a so called “superior baseball mind” (his words, not mine). Your sin?, You disagreed with him. He is absolutely convinced that every scout, team executive, coach and manager (you know, the people who get paid to evaluate players) is an idiot if they don’t see things as he does. Edit - I see the belittling has already occurred, should have scrolled down.
  21. Actually, neither of us is correct, nor is Boston.com. Lowe was released by the Nats after clearing waivers; I thought they had claimed him off waivers. The Sox technically signed him as a free agent. By rule, the Sox are responsible for the prorated portion of the MLB minimum (at this point of the season, that would be about $175K) with the Nats paying the balance of about $10.1 million.
