  1. 6th inning is too early. Lowe is likely to get one more PA. Do you really want that AB to go to Hamilton (or Sogard as a ph)?
  2. That mighty cleanup bat has driven in 2 of the runs tonight by putting the ball in play.
  3. He’s had that explained to him by multiple posters countless times. like most things told to him, it doesn’t sink in.
  4. Disagree on Tolle. If he doesn't develop a second pitch, he has no future in MLB period. Major League hitters will destroy him. If he only develops a competent second pitch, he's a middle reliever at best. He's a long way from being a major league starter right now and will need another year if not 2 in the minors. Early didn't have overpowering stuff as a kid and thus learned early (no pun intended) how to use pitch selection and control to set hitters up. Once he put on some weight, his fastball increased, but he still knows how to pitch. His ceiling is probably a #3 because he doesn't have a devastating first pitch, but he can be very successful.
  5. Probably (I’m not going back to look), but then you don’t use 20-20 hindsight on everything. So if you didn’t like it or predicted it at the time, I’ll believe you.
  6. As often as you advocate getting rid of players, we’d be seeing a heavy dose of Florida Complex League guys on the Fenway field now.
  7. I don’t think that’s deserving of a downvote, but it does merit a BOOOOOO
  8. Batting average? Really? Yankees lead the majors in runs scored (770) and homers 252) by wide margins. That’s how they win games.
  9. He’d already uncorked a couple wild pitches. Ump couldn’t have said anything.😀
  10. Agree. Nobody could have kept up the success he was having.
  11. Nah. The results could end up similar, but 2011 was a complete collapse by a decent pitching staff. There was more than enough offense that year. The pitching this month for the most part has been okay. Not as good as it was a month ago, but okay. Most of the time, it’s given the team a chance. Hitting has been the issue this month and realistically, all year.
  12. Sign of a team that’s pressing. Now that becomes a real big play.
  13. My question on this is who would even take the job. Breslow’s current job was toxic when he took it; wasn’t he the 10th or 11th person they approached with all or nearly all of the earlier choices declining to even interview? I’ve heard he isn’t liked by subordinates in the Sox front office and does not have good relationships with peers with other clubs (which might explain part of the inaction at the trade deadline).
  14. I must have missed all the posts you made back in April objecting to this trade. Or the ones from spring training where you said Priester would have this kind of year.
  15. True, but he was missing badly with it because he knew Chisholm was doing it. Escapes successfully so no harm done.
