  1. Bregman? Have to wonder if Redsnyder s ill as this would be the optimal spot for him. Edit - That’s why I’m posting here and not managing a major league team. Second edit - Forgot Yoshida is in left today, not DH. Makes more sense now for D.
  2. I think you’re right, but the lack of attempts is alarming.
  3. I still remember the 1966 World Series, O’s swept the Dodgers by scores of 5-2, 6-0, 1-0 and 1-0.
  4. Duran had a terrible short secondary off 3rd there, even with Horton in the wind up.
  5. Of late, he hasn’t even tried to steal second. He’s only had 6 steals in 8 attempts since the end of April. In May he was 3 out of 5, June 2 for 2 and July 1 for 1.
  6. That’s the first one he’s missed today IMO. Not a good spot for that to happen for Crochet, but at least it ultimately only cost Garrett 3 extra pitches.
  7. I thought he was out live; replay was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
  8. That last out was an example of how the wind really affects things. That ball may have cleared the bleachers yesterday.
  9. Well, minor progress. At least a couple of hard hit balls at’em that inning.
  10. The short answer is no. The long answer is no, he doesn’t. You only see posts from him if things are not going well. The minute they do, he disappears. dmoney is/was the same way.
  11. Got lucky on the pickoff; Crochet easily could have been called for obstruction. Cubs with a couple of lucky hits this inning, but that’s baseball.
  12. I’m guessing he’ll play 2 out of 3 for the foreseeable future. Just watching him since he came back, it obvious he’s not 100%. If 2/3 keeps him healthier and in the lineup even that often, okay. We need him.
  13. This. A .500ish team is not a bad team nor is it a good team. The Rockies are a bad team. Last year’s White Sox were a bad team. The Sox have not had what could even be remotely considered a bad team for a full season since 2014, when they went 71-91 (2020 doesn’t count for good, bad or average anything). No, those recent 78-84 teams were not bad. Mediocre yes. A C- grade sure. Not a D or F.
  14. Probably wouldn’t be a bad idea. It’s the entire travel baseball mentality; throw as hard as you can as long as you can and then we’ll put someone else in. It’s permeated every level of American baseball. No setting hitters up or learning the art.
  15. Fred’s a little weak on being able to tell the difference between throwing and pitching. Imanaga knows how to pitch and he was putting the ball where he wanted it most of the night. Tip of the hat to him; he was excellent tonight. I also recall that a certain Sox closer threw no harder than the upper 80s; all he did was help to win a World Series.
  16. Would it have mattered? 0 runs is not a winning number.
  17. You can’t try and hit the ball 500 feet with this guy. Wait on him and look the other way.
  18. How the hell did he hit that pitch that hard? It might have beaned him if he didn’t swing.
  19. Sox are trying to hit everything 500 feet. Wai All of these posts have merit. Weak contact (which is what Wong has had all year) isn’t good, but it beats no contact (ala Romy today). Weak contact at least has a minute chance of something good happening.
  20. Hey, I got a standing ovation by the entire crowd when I came out of one several years ago. (I remain convinced that it had nothing to do with Andre Dawson’s 3rd homer of the game).
  21. Although to be fair, I thought Bregman got a break on the 2-1 pitch. I do think Imanaga is getting some calls that Bello isn’t, but that tends to happen when you throw the ball near the plate most of the time.
