  1. One thing to keep in mind about all minor leaguers is that there were no minor leagues last year. A select few who were destined for AAA (maybe a few at AA) got to go to the alternate sites; the rest went to their local high school field and worked out with whatever local talent they could drum up. That's an entire year of development basically gone for most of them. It had to affected different guys different ways and it also makes evaluating them much more difficult. And less face it, some guys struggle at a Level before figuring it out and sometimes it takes over a year to do that. If the highly touted ones still really suck next year, then you truly have some busts; I don't think you can read much of anything into this year.
  2. He might be able to become an average first baseman with a ton of hard work, but he’s got a lot a work to do on the offensive side as well. If he wants a decent length career, he’s going to have to find the time to work on both in the off-season.
  3. Whatever. Not sure why I took you off ignore, but back you go. Meanwhile, you really need to chill out. Don’t bother answering, I won’t see it.
  4. One more major Red Sox Covid concern; Devers and Bogaerts are like best buds from everything I’ve heard.
  5. The call ups are going to be Braser and Santana. You only get 2. Now there may be a rotating cast for a few slots, especially with Covid raging, but the guys you’ve seen are probably it, at least among the non- pitchers
  6. 1) Why “go off” on anyone? Agree to disagree and move on. 2) Why assume moon reported you? There are any number of regular game thread posters who could have done it.
  7. I think ghost is drinking or taking something before he posts; he seems to become more unhinged the later it gets.
  8. Maybe 2 first basemen would help the D? (Insert huge grin)
  9. Stork was complaining in 2018; need you know more about this alleged fan?
  10. Got to be some Lowell Spinners uniforms boxed up somewhere. Have them shipped to Tampa for tomorrow’s game and put them out for the team to wear. Tell them you want to play like a Rookie League team, here ya go.
  11. Dalbec ought to be yanked right now and sent down. Plawecki can catch, Vazquez to first. That’s just concentration.
  12. Yep. What was it we were taught at age 9 about knowing what are you going to do with the ball before it’s pitched.
  13. The way JD hits Yarborough, why would they pitch to him with Munoz on deck? Edit - Dumb AB by Martinez. Not something you swing at on the first pitch.
  14. That might help the Sox defense.
  15. Bogaerts out of the game; didn’t appear to hurt himself. Cora waived him in which tells me another Covid list member and I doubt it’s a contact tracing thing. Hope all these invincible athletes are proud of themselves.
  16. Stephen Gonsalves up to replace Sawamura and add a left to the pen with Taylor and Perez out.
  17. Been wondering how they are replacing these guys without affecting the 40 man roster; apparently, replacements for Covid list players do not have to be on the 40 man nor do they have to be removed once the Covid players come back: "Any clubs that experience a COVID-19 outbreak among their players may add to their Major League Active List temporarily, without the need for those players to be placed on waivers, outrighted, or optioned in order to be removed from the 40-man roster when players return from the COVID-19 Related Injured List." 40-man Roster | Glossary | MLB.com WWW.MLB.COM The Official Site of Major League Baseball
  18. No, like I said, they could have pitched Sale tonight, done a pen game over weekend the Guardians, pushed Sale to Monday and had Eovaldi pitch twice against the Rays as well.
  19. Just saw the Delino Deshields era has ended; sent to the Reds for Cash Considerations. Wonder if Cash can give us an inning or 2 out of the pen.
  20. I saw somewhere that by pushing Sale a day, it allows him to face Tampa Bay twice (Wednesday and then next Monday). Not sure I buy the spin, but its at least a plausible explanation. OTOH, you could have had him pitch tonight, pushed his next start a day and still had the same result.
  21. Great, some more guys being added to the Covid list. Taylor was mentioned before the commercial. They aren’t going to hold off the A’s if half the team has it. Worst part is, the strength and conditioning coach was one of the first; he only works with everybody on the team.
  22. I assume he’s talking about Peacock.
  23. Lowe needs to be knocked down. He is waaay too comfortable against Sox pitching.
