    1966 World Series. The Dodgers scored single runs in each of the second and third innings of Game 1. They never scored again in the series, losing all four games by scores of 5-2, 6-0, 1-0 and 1-0. I remember it mostly because it was the first World Series I paid attention to.

    And that 1 run was a solo homer. The 2 runs they scored in game 4 were on Bogaerts 2 run shot in the first. They haven’t scored a run on something besides a homer since the 3rd inning of game 3.

    He certainly doesn’t take a lot of pitches. Regular season, he had 8 walks in 181 plate appearances. Heck, he got hit by a pitch 7 times.

    That’s the impression I got. I don’t know if he looked at Renfroe, but Kike knew he was in the area.

    Not an easy play, but certainly one that could have been made. We’ve seen that a lot this year.

    Especially when you consider the edit I made to the OP; Houston hitting .545 in that same situation.

    Sox are now 1-19 (.053) with RISP and 2 outs in the series. Astros are hitting .545 in the same situation.

    Disagree on jacksonian. He's a Yankee fan, but he's been here for forever. He's also an MD, and I have found his comments on injuries and rehab time to be invaluable and extremely accurate. The last couple nights not withstanding, he does give a positive contribution to the boards. Stork on the other hand ...

    The official top is defined as “ the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter's shoulders and the top of the uniform pants -- when the batter is in his stance and prepared to swing at a pitched ball” Doesn’t seem an simple thing to actually call. The bottom is defined as a point just below the kneecap. At least that is a fairly easy thing to visualize.

    Well one good thing is they won’t see Valdez. He’s beginning to remind of the way Gaylord Perry used to pitch against the Sox back in the 70s. Sox couldn’t touch Gaylord, and on the rare occasion they did score a few runs against him, Cleveland’s offense would show up.

    Doubt it, might be up to Devers to do that. As Rex Barney, the old Oriole PA announcer would say after a nice play by a fan: “Give that fan a contract”
