  1. Now to be fair, his injury issues seem to have started once he got to AAA. Context: 2013 was Rookie ball in the Arizona League (56 game season). 2014 was 59 out of a 77 game schedule in the Northwest League (Short Season A) plus 30 more in the South Atlantic League after that. NWL started later than other minor leagues so that probably was a full season as much as it could be. 2015 was 90 out of 140 in the California League. One guy on that team played 110 games and a couple others were around 105. Everyone else was 90 or less. That easily could have been organization directed by the Giants. 2016 was 119 out of 144 in the Eastern League. Two guys played in 125 or so games, Arroyo was 3rd overall on the team by a wide margin. Once he got to AAA, the injuries started.
  2. Everything arm side on both hitters. Hopefully that’s by design
  3. Interesting defensive alignment for the 9th.
  4. Some guys do; they usually have plaques in Cooperstown.
  5. Somewhere, Dandy Don is starting to croon Turn Out the Lights.
  6. Verdugo needs to get his head out of his ass. Maybe he needs to be taken out; Schwarber to left, Dalbec to first.
  7. All set up for another 2nd and 3rd no one out scoreless inning.
  8. Radio guys are all over the Sox D; they are mincing no words. Per their remarks, Verdugo should have caught the first double, Vazquez had Margot dead to rights at 3rd but didn’t realize he wasn’t coming home and Renfroe would have had a difficult catch but could have gotten the triple.
  9. It’s something on ESPN that shows pitched and results of balls in play. I asked because in looking at the play by play, Pawlecki was the only guy who was held at 3rd who didn’t score, and he could only score once. I could have missed something though, it would not be the first time.
  10. How do you figure that? I'm not able to watch right now, so I'm going more off of Gamecast.
  11. He pitched 6 innings last night. Had they known Pivetta was going on the Covid list today, they would have had him skip that and he’d have pitched today. Of course, gaining that knowledge would have required you to do something other than criticize every move with 20-20 hindsight.
  12. It’s not only who they had, but who’s available. If Pivetta goes on the Covid list yesterday, they keep Seabold from starting last night and he’s pitching today.
  13. He said he didn’t understand the line-up. So I asked other than the obvious change of Devers, what would he do differently? I agree Devers should be in there; the only other reason he wouldn’t be in is if his numbers against Plesac were absolutely putrid, say 0-10 with 9 K’s. That I have no idea of.
  14. 75 innings, Splendid, over 16 games (15 starts) this year. The K/Bb rates are really good. He also had 5 appearances at Portland in 2019 pre TJS.
  15. So other than inserting Devers, what would you do differently?
  16. Seabold pitched 6 innings yesterday, so he's out. My guess would be Richards will get the start. He's the best bet to go multiple innings. Edit - Looks like the Sox called up somebody named Kutter Crawford; he's a starter with Worcester, so I'll assume he's getting the nod. Okay numbers at Portland in 10 games, not so great at Worcester in 6. He's only thrown 75 innings this year so far, but all but one appearance have been starts.
  17. Jalapeños are vegan. Just sayin
  18. Duran added to the Covid list; Wong up for today. Sox also claimed IF Taylor Motter on waivers from the Rockies. The Jack Lopez days seem numbered.
  19. Sí, señor. It would require getting a few guys off the DL and using some pitchers as position players, but it could be done.
  20. I doubt it; these guys are tested pretty regularly.
  21. He does seem to have particular issues with anyone who joined this site in April 2016. You are handling it correctly. To paraphrase War Games, the only way to win is not to play.
  22. Career outfielder trying to play the infield. Arauz late getting to 2nd. Two DPs missed already.
  23. Sale not sharp and iffy D rears it’s head again (tough play, but one that an regular infielder makes).
  24. Renfroe swung at balls 4 and 5
