  1. I was never gaga over the guy. I didn’t voice an opinion one way or the other. He’s a nice addition, but he was never going to be a savior. His best position is DH.
  2. Devers was even pointing for Schwarber to throw to second. Memo to Schwarber: Your arm will never be confused with Evans or Clemente, or even Renfroe.
  3. Dumb defense twice this inning.
  4. I just checked; he threw exactly 100 pitches that night.
  5. Should have just stopped at actually slides. Not sure what that was but slide does not describe it.
  6. He was a lot closer to 100 pitches that day, wasn’t he?
  7. That ball almost went through the webbing of Iglesias’ glove.
  8. White Sox warming someone in the pen. That can’t be a bad thing for the Red Sox.
  9. No doubt about that. A couple of those Ks have been set up by early strike calls outside the zone though. It forces guys to expand. They need to try and bunt on this guy, see if he can move.
  10. Pivetta’s getting the ball maybe an inch off the zone. Lynn’s getting them 3 inches. OTOH I’ve seen no obvious strikes called balls for either guy.
  11. I’m forced to watch the White Sox broadcast; like I said, even their announcers are seeing it. Plawecki needs to be all over this guy on every close pitch.
  12. Lynn getting a lot of strikes outside the strike zone. Not all are swinging. Even the White Sox announcers are subtly alluding to it.
  13. That K was set up by the bad first pitch call.
  14. Definitely that way when he’s in center, but it’s a tougher read there. I never paid that much attention when he’s manned one of the corners.
  15. JD’s missed the past couple games with a back issue; I get it. Who knows where Arroyo is in coming back? He must have gotten hit harder than Kike. Unless Bogie’s hurt, there is no excuse for him not to be in the line-up.
  16. Taylor and Dalbec with the save.
  17. Bogie with a highlight reel play. Followed by a catchable ball missed by Renfroe.
  18. At 20+ pitches, at least they got him out of the game if it goes that far.
  19. Hendricks has thrown some really nasty stuff this inning.
  20. Stone used to be better than this, or maybe he just seemed that way when compared to the Hawk.
  21. Whitlock got a break on the 3-0 pitch, but then the 2-0 pitch should have been called a strike.
  22. Devers’ error on a very real DP possibility made all 5 runs scored in the bottom of the 4th unearned. On top of that, they have 1 hit outside the top of the 3rd.
  23. Now to be fair, his injury issues seem to have started once he got to AAA. Context: 2013 was Rookie ball in the Arizona League (56 game season). 2014 was 59 out of a 77 game schedule in the Northwest League (Short Season A) plus 30 more in the South Atlantic League after that. NWL started later than other minor leagues so that probably was a full season as much as it could be. 2015 was 90 out of 140 in the California League. One guy on that team played 110 games and a couple others were around 105. Everyone else was 90 or less. That easily could have been organization directed by the Giants. 2016 was 119 out of 144 in the Eastern League. Two guys played in 125 or so games, Arroyo was 3rd overall on the team by a wide margin. Once he got to AAA, the injuries started.
  24. Everything arm side on both hitters. Hopefully that’s by design
