5th inning; looked like he twisted his knee on a pitch. He threw a couple of practice pitches and said he was fine, but like I said, I watched his face on those pitches and there was a uncomfortable look on it. His control went to complete crap right after that.
I don’t see how these hitters can lay off pitches that close.
Okay, with all due respect to Harry Doyle, it’s not like the ump has had a tight strike zone. Most of these balls haven’t been close.
It’s anecdotal I know, but it seems to me there have been a lot of times this year where Robles has come in with a clean inning, gets a quick 2 outs and then can’t finish the inning.
Hill should have been taken out when he had that grimace. I watched his practice pitches, there was still a look on his face that said something was wrong. He wasn’t even close to the same for the couple batters he faced after that.
Diekman not sharp; not a surprise, he hasn’t pitched since last Friday, and he hasn’t been a model of control this year anyway.
Meanwhile, Robles has sucked four times since then.
He wasn’t going to keep hitting .370, we all knew that. But he really hasn’t been making decent contact for a while now. He’s gotten hits, but a lot of them have been pretty soft.
