  1. So the defense in the bottom of the 8th will be? Dalbec to 1st, Shaw to 2nd, Kike back to CF and Verdugo to RF?
  2. Does Dalbec hit for Renfroe here?
  3. Smoltz with an great point about the lead Verdugo didn’t take. He gets another 6 inches he’s safe.
  4. Took a perfect throw to get him and Maldonado delivered.
  5. Is he getting Chuck Knoblauch disease?
  6. I know you meant 2-0, but it sure seems like 20-0.
  7. It says something about the Astros lineup that they have this year’s AL batting champ batting 7th. Tucker was top 10 and hits 6th.
  8. You don’t throw strikes to Alvarez right now. Balls 6 inches off the plate might be too close.
  9. Should have drilled him. It’s also late, and the Astros have killed this part of each game so far.
  10. Sox are now 1-20 with RISP and 2 outs in the series. That’s really hard to do.
  11. Since Big Papi talked him a few days ago, he’s cut out the huge over swing. That was not a pitch to swing at on a 0-0 count.
  12. Devers needs to stay within himself here. A single is what’s needed. He doesn’t need to swing out if his shoes to hit a long ball.
  13. Wanted the lefty hitter, but why not Shaw. He’s at least a threat to hit the ball hard somewhere.
  14. Plawecki could have done that. Hell, one of the pitchers could have done that.
  15. Somebody needs to lay down a bunt or something. Anything to get on.
  16. He certainly should pitch to Alvarez, who leads off next inning. After that?
  17. Hard to believe, but they grounded into 136 during the season. In contrast, the Sox only grounded into 100.
  18. Plawecki’s the catcher tonight.
  19. Astros have this inning right where they want it. RISP and 2 outs.
  20. 1966 World Series. The Dodgers scored single runs in each of the second and third innings of Game 1. They never scored again in the series, losing all four games by scores of 5-2, 6-0, 1-0 and 1-0. I remember it mostly because it was the first World Series I paid attention to.
  21. Been so long it’s hard to remember.
  22. And that 1 run was a solo homer. The 2 runs they scored in game 4 were on Bogaerts 2 run shot in the first. They haven’t scored a run on something besides a homer since the 3rd inning of game 3.
  23. Other than the grand slam, Schwarber has been invisible this whole series.
  24. That’s the one time you should slide into first base.
