    I agree, totally. A 1 or 2 year rebuild, here and there is okay, as long as a window is being built up, but that is not what has happened. This has been a 6 year rebuild with an outlier fluke season in 2021.

    It does seem like a long time ago, but the three decades of pain that came before JH was worse.

    I know how to tell time. I also know when I see the same movie ten times in a row.

    I get the idea that we have some massive talent in the pipeline. Sure, nothing is guaranteed, but we can only play 9 everyday players, at a time. We need to choose wisely, but we need to choose. Choose who to trust and build around, and who to trade to fill other needs. It need not be for a 1 or 2 year player that limits our window. We can trade a few 5 year players for one 3-5 year player and still be about the future, while also making a push for the now.

    I'm feeling really bummed about our 2025 chances. I still like how we are set up for the future, but until we take some plunges to fill some major gaps, as in pitching, we may never reach glory, again. I've asked this many times, over recent years.... How Soon Is Now?

    The idea would be to trade Casas for pitching (like Crochet.) and improve the defense, so the pitching doesn't have to get 4 outs every other inning.

    I fully understand what their plan is. (I saw it coming before 2018.) That is seperate from what I think needs to be done or should be done. The "sham" is their feigned interest in everybody and anybody to try and con teh fans into thinking they really want to add top talent.

    What good is serious interest in all the best FAs, if you won't outbid anyone. Everybody who ever signs a big FA, knows they overpaid, and did it anyway. Apparently, we missed that memo. This winter already sucks. Now, our only hope is to trade some of our future for help.

    I thought Fried might get $190M/7. It looks like the blue chippers get a 20-30% bump. Our top choices are dwindling. I'm not high on Burnes or Bregman, anyway. Ho-hum, another sham winter.

    I'd be thrilled to get Fried and then trade for Crochet. Does Casas & Abreu get Crochet? Mayer straight up? If we get two good pitchers and a defensive catcher, we have a few options: Trade for Arenado (hopefully with Yoshida in the deal) and move Devers to 1B, ot just go with Grissom or Campbell at 3B. (Mayer, if he's not traded?)
