  1. Agreed. With 4 OF'ers, all seeking FT play, the DH slot looks filled.
  2. So, crossing your fingers on Casas returning?
  3. Agreed. I notice I tend to look more closely and highly at prospects we trade for.
  4. The deal certainly looked better than the Padre offer- both at the time and in hindsight. Verdugo did look good, out of the gate. Downs had some promise.
  5. If we can ever pitch Song followed by Sansone, we can sing... Song- San-sone Weeping like a willow Song-San-sone Sleeping on my pillow Funny thing, Alez can sing it with a cry in his voice And before you know it, we started feeling good Cora simply got not choice.
  6. I think our pitching staff has allowed more ST'ing runs than any other team. I think we're #2 in runs scored.
  7. We've done better with comp picks than the Betts trade. I know that's hindsight, and the two reported trade offers both looked bad, but we almost traded him in the summer of 2019, so the deal was going to be made. Speaking of comp picks... Godbout for Pivetta K Campbell for Bogey Anthony for ERod Kopech for Ellsbury JBJ for VMart Daniel Bard for Damon Ellsbury & Lowrie for OCab Buchholz for Pedro
  8. It's hard to know what a "better value" deal is for someone who will turn 33 in the first year of an extension (2029.) It's like a double gamble. I'm not sure about hurrying to try and extend him for 2030, when he turns 34 in September of that year. More than 2 years added on seems way too risky.
  9. Oviedo looked pretty good. BTW, is this still the "Week of Feb 21?"
  10. There might be 10 other guys not on the 40 with more hope and promise of making the 40 than Guerrero. Maybe more. Also, he won't make the 40, unless they plan on him making the 26, so the odds are about zero.
  11. We all hated the idea of trading Betts. The return was not what anyone expected, but the rumors were there was only one other equally lame offer. I like the the looks of the Gray trade. I'm not going to say Betts helped us get Gray, even though technically one part of one part helped us get him.
  12. Exactly. To say Fitts got us Gray is missing the big picture. To say Betts got us Gray is... 🙃
  13. I get it: you are saying contradictory things, and not just once. You literally just wrote this... Lets try it a different way: I don't really care if the Orioles make the playoffs or if they signed Alonso. I'm taking a break from responding to anything you post, since is an amorphous blob of words.
  14. Your major point is where we rank in revenue vs spending. That means other teams matter- their revenue and their spending. Whether the O's make the playoffs are not is unrelated, but you did project them ahead of the Sox, when you predicted us to finish in 4th place, which is yet another position based on other teams mattering. This is the "logic" that is not logic. It's not about me not understanding. I fully understand all of your contradictions to the letter. The goalposts have been moved so often, they've added wheels to them.
  15. Maybe because Priester had such a good year, the guy we got back must be good? I have Holobetz ahead of him, anyway.
  16. Fred will choose Cash, then. Whatever it takes to make JH look worse. Later, when these guys are paid more than their AAV, he'll switch to AAV. I like to use AAV, and not to make JH look good. I actually agree that he should spend more, but because it represents the total money per year given out.
  17. It kinda reminds me of how basketball is ruined by everyone standing around waiting to shoot a 3.
  18. Confusing to you, maybe. Posters have been complaining about the return we got for Betts for years. Hell, someone just said we should dump Wong, so we lose all remnants of that trade and can move on. Some may or may not count who we got for Verdugo in trade as something carried over from the Betts trade, as Fitts was not the only player traded for Gray. Is Fitts' part of the Gray trade a partial "gift that keeps on giving?" It might depend on how well Gray does in 2026, and even then how much of his success do we attribute to Fitts? 🙃
  19. Depends on what looks better for Fred.
  20. If we're not top 10, JH needs to run out of town. Once we get to #9, the goalposts will be moved to top 5.
