  1. Maybe they just forgot him.
  2. He may not have one for long, but it looks like JH gives everyone 3 years minimum. It might be hard hiring the next GM, if that trends to less than 3. Brez did do some dirty work for Cora, and he's made some clear strides in building up the farm and focus on pitching. He's made some major mistakes, for sure, but I still look at the totality of all his significant decisions and see more good than bad. I'm not sure that's enough. How this season ends might be the telling event in Brez's tenure, but I'm not sure it should be. How the younger players finish out 2026 might be what saves his job.
  3. Someone shoulda talked to Devers many years before, and normally that is viewed and the manager's role not the GM. I'm not sure why that's "gutter."
  4. Kinda strange, huh?
  5. Godbout is heating up. He homered, today and is nearing.800. Eyanson is opening some eyes: 4.1 IP 0H 0ER 0BB 9K
  6. Like being the one to talk to Devers, because the manager wouldn't, and then trading the baby and dumping the salary for JH to pocket.
  7. Probably not Houston.
  8. Cora and the coaches are out. I wonder if we hire someone of just go with Tracy the rest of 2026. At least we will see some new coaches. Gotta wonder if Brez is looking over his shoulder.
  9. Thought the leash might be a little longer, but hey...
  10. Clapping from a non hater. 😛
  11. The theory is you get a better pitcher at $50M/5 than signing five 1 year players at $10M a pop. We really cannot count Giolito as an injured/rehabbing pitcher signed: he got hurt after the signing. Without him, the cost has been... (way more than $50-60M) Last 8 years: $145M/5 Sale (we all know his record of missed starts) $68M/4 Nate (started 2/3rd of his games: 74 out of a possible 112 games) $21M/1 Buehler $18M/2 Sandoval $11M/2 Perez $10M/1 Richards $10M/1 Kluber $10M Paxton $10M/2 Hendriks $7M Wacha (did fine when he started) $5M Hill
  12. Using this criteria, our SP'ers have this many good starts: 4IP 0-2 ERs 6IP 0-3 ERs 8 IP 0-4 ERs 1/1 Tolle 4/5 Early 3/6 Crochet 2/5 Suarez & Gray 1/5 Bello Tolle & Early: 5 of 6. (83%) Crochet, Suarez & Gray: 7/16 (44%) Bello: 1/5 (20%) Team: 13/27 (48%)
  13. The Arias home run streak ended, yesterday, so they gave him today off. He ends up PH'ing an HR in the bottom of the 9th for a Sea Dogs 4-2 win!
  14. It took Wong 7 years to catch up to Betts in seasonal fWAR. LOL.
  15. Some notable fWARs: (before today) 1.3 Murakami 0.9 BLowe 0.8 Contreras, Yandy Diaz, Neto & L Arraez 0.7 C Vazquez 0.6 Donovan, Bogaerts, Jeffers 0.5 Dom Smith 0.3 Schwarber, T Gray & Alonso 0.2 V Grissom, G Torres, Josh Bell, Betts, Wong, Okamoto, KMarte, DHam, Yorke & Andujar 0.1 Moncada, Semien, Paredes _______________________ -0.7 Ozuna -0.6 Devers -0.3 Refsnyder, Story -0.2 Hoskins, J Naylor, B Matthews -0.1 Bichette
  16. It does stand alone- post Babe Ruth. Even the Sparky Lyle trade pales compared to Betts.
  17. While true, the fact that a perfect bunt does not work, sometimes is an point that supports the position against bunting.
  18. That's the scary part about the Devers value. If the SFG are not happy, why are we so angry?
  19. ...and Teel has yet to play in 2026.
  20. I was fine with that idea, despite DHam's off season in '25. I'd still rather have Durbin than DHam. It's Harrison that may be missed. Monasterio may be the sleeper in the trade, much like Holobetz might be in the Priest
  21. Okay, Devers waas red hot, when he left: apply the same principal to Sale when he left.
