  1. I am a huge Cora fan, and I believed going in that he would be a difference maker in our season this year. Also, I owe him an apology for my criticism towards batting Kike in the leadoff spot. That said, my vote would probably go to Kevin Cash.
  2. Thanks Moon. I just don't seem to have as much internet time these days, for some reason.
  3. Exactly. It's a win-win, in a warped sort of way. LOL
  4. I seriously think that's a big part of it. I am disappointed quite a bit, but I'm okay with that. LOL
  5. I was really hoping the Yankees would get beat out by the Jays. As baseball fans, you have to love how tight the AL WC race was going into the last week of baseball. Now we get a one game playoff series with the hated Yankees. It doesn't get much better than this. I'm not sure my nerves can take it.
  6. You are not wrong Bell. There is little loyalty going in either direction. I'm just saying that I wish there was more.
  7. I have always been of the opinion that a team should not spend big bucks on relievers. IMO, resources are better spent on other parts of the team.
  8. Fans should be more loyal to the players too. Loyalty is a 2 way street.
  9. The political statement aside, this is how things would be in my little world.
  10. If it's the Sox and the Yankees in the WC game, the Sox will win. We're due.
  11. I don't blame Cora for last night's game. IMO, Cora is the reason why the team has done as well as it has done.
  12. Maybe not, but you have to think positive.
  13. Yes! We are going to make the playoffs.
  14. I know I've said it many times already, but it needs to be repeated. The Red Sox will make the playoffs. Book it.
  15. And yet, the Yankees have the 4th best run differential in the division.
  16. Even though the Jays are behind us in the standings, I am pulling for them 100%. That does require the Sox to have to win their games to stay ahead of the Jays.
  17. I get it. I don't agree with the sentiment, but I get it.
  18. I hope the Jays and the Rays take it to them this week. Regardless, the Sox have to take care of their own business. We control our destiny into the playoffs. I like our chances.
  19. ERod ended up being somewhere in the middle of those 2 scenarios. I know the pen hasn't been good, but as with most of the Sox losses, I am more frustrated with the offense than with the pitching. Scoring 3 runs a game just isn't going to cut it.
  20. Some people have doubted this team all season long, and still do. Yet, here we are, on the cusp of making it to the postseason.
  21. As I'm sure you know, the Mariners are an astounding 14 games better than their Pythagorean W-L. The fine folks at Baseball Reference have poked fun at this by posting a "Fun Differential +90" alongside their run differential. Regardless of the ultimate outcome, I imagine that it's been a very fun season for you.
  22. It seems to me that whenever the Sox have a chance to put the nail in the Yankees' proverbial coffin, they can't get it done. I hate losing to the Yankees. Hate it. Even if the Sox lose today (they better not), they will still have a 1 game lead for the second WC game (thank you Twins) with the scheduling advantage in our favor. I am confident that the Sox will make the playoffs. I just don't want the Yankees to make it too. I am hoping for the Jays to sweep them.
  23. I understand that baseball is a business. I don't like it though. I know it won't happen, but I'd love to see other considerations take priority over money. It's not like any of these people are going to struggle to make ends meet. IMO, players and owners should show a little more loyalty to each other and to the fans.
  24. The division races are more or less over in the AL, though Seattle could still mathematically catch Houston. However, with about 1 week to go, the WC race will be exciting and nerve-racking. An advantage to the Red Sox is the head to head games between the Yankees and the Jays and between the Mariners and the As. In the NL, the WC race is more or less over, though there are still a couple of division races going on. The NL East race is the one carrying the most significance because whoever doesn't win the division goes home. Go Red Sox! Go baseball!
