  1. New poll: Do the Jays have momentum? They have 20 games remaining. I predict 13-7 for them.
  2. Since the trade deadline, the Yankees lead the AL in team ERA with 3.65. Interestingly enough, the 'don't have enough pitching' Jays are right behind you at 3.66. The Red Sox are second to last with an ERA of 4.80. At least we are beating the Orioles by over 2 points in ERA. LOL
  3. I did. Unless I'm forgetting a move, I liked all of Dave's moves post 2017.
  4. We handled not having Sale just fine for most of the season.
  5. I really like Schwarber and would like to have him back on the team next year. You are spot on in saying that Cora likes flexibility, and I am sure that he would be able to find enough playing time for all of the 'logjam' players. The concern for me would be defense. As others have pointed out, playing Schwarber and/or JD in the field necessitates moving someone else out of their 'best' defensive position. As poor as our defense has been this season, I'm guessing that improving the defense will be a priority for Bloom and Cora next season. I'm not sure if keeping Schwarber is in the plans, unless he were going to primarily DH, which doesn't seem likely with JD still on the team.
  6. If I knew for sure that the Sox would beat the Yankees, then I'd rather face the Yankees. The idea of the Yankees beating us in that game, though, would be too heartbreaking. Therefore, I'd rather face the Jays. With that being said, as Bell said, just get in.
  7. The road trip scares me, particularly the trip out west to face Seattle, where we never seem to do well. We need to keep pace with the other teams during this stretch, then we should be in very good shape. Those one run losses are killers.
  8. I very much believe that both WC teams will come from the AL East. I still think it will be the Sox and the Yankees, though I would not be disappointed if it's the Sox and the Jays.
  9. The young folk don't type the words out though. It's 'ikr' . Took me a while to figure it out. LOL
  10. The Jays gained 9 games on the Yankees in about 2 weeks. Incredible.
  11. Bring back the D squad. It is amazing how a team can go from looking so bad, to looking so good, then back to looking so bad again.
  12. Yes, you're right. It is a league wide trend. And not one that I like.
  13. The Sox will be in the playoffs. Book it.
  14. I don't think I would say I'd be happy, but if the Sox aren't going to make the playoffs, then the Yankees losing is the next best thing. I could tolerate the Sox losing due to COVID a lot easier than I could tolerate them losing because of bad defense.
  15. Things can change pretty drastically over a couple of weeks, but I still think it's going to be the Red Sox and the Yankees in the WC game. I know I keep harping on run differential (because I'm such a fan), but compare the Jays and the Mariners. The Jays are +140 and the Mariners are -56, and they have virtually the same record. That's mind boggling.
  16. 100% agree. Even after another loss last night, the Sox have a better chance of getting in than the teams Jays, Mariners, or As, IMO. Also, for tonight's game, go Jays.
  17. I don't wish injury on any player, and I hope Cole's injury is not serious. I like the "there goes the season" thought, though.
  18. Nah. Nobody gives him too much credit.
  19. Good point. I didn't realize how much the Rays have dominated the Os. It seems like that Rays just don't lose anymore.
  20. The problem with the bullpen stems from having starters that don't go deep enough into games. This was a problem in 2019 as well.
  21. As I said before, they have been very lucky in clustering their hits together. And yes, it is luck.
