Extra Innings is a wonderful thing. I don't know what I'd do without it. I don't watch many Dodgers games, but listening to Scully is a treat. Unfortunately for me, all the Os games are blacked out on Extra Innings and so I have to watch the Os feed on MASN. There's a good game going on.

I'm not even sure they were given a choice. As Harmony said, the media speculated that a deal centered around either Miley or Buchholz, but weren't sure which of the two it was. They might have been offered both, and they probably did prefer Miley, but it's a stretch to say that they didn't want Buchholz.

There is definitely someone on the 40 man that could be DFA'd without much of a 2nd thought. We won't need a 5th starter until close to the end of the month.

You may not be the end all, but when it comes to prospects, you know your stuff. My guess is that whether and when Benintendi gets called up will depend on how the Sox are performing. The greater the 'sense of urgency', the sooner he gets called up.

Don't listen to MVP. Cameron is not just some random writer at Fangraphs. The dude knows his stuff, and he makes a very good argument in this article.

As I posted in another thread, I have warmed up to the idea of acquiring Lucroy. Cameron makes some excellent points, as did another writer whose name I don't remember. In short, what the other writer said was that we would have to acquire a pitcher of Kershaw's caliber in order to get as big an upgrade as Lucroy would provide. I understand that we need pitching. But rather than trying to get an ace, it makes a lot of sense to get Lucroy and a mid rotation pitcher instead.

Wilkerson deserves a shot. He could be our Daniel Nava of pitching. There is not currently a spot for him on the 40 man roster.

Kimbrel did not lose the game, but all the blame on Farrell is out of line.

This was not on Farrell. Kimbrel has to be able to come into the game in that situation and preserve the score. That 9th inning was on Kimbrel, and Kimbrel alone.

The lack of a viable Plan B was a mistake. I can agree with that. Again, this is where ERod's injury and underperformance really hurts.

Buchholz has been terrible this year. Fangraphs doesn't like him either.
