  1. Dislike.
  2. 2 hours and 11 minutes in between the Rays putting the ball into play, either for an out or for a hit.
  3. Oh, and WOOHOO! Keep the streak going!
  4. Are you rolling your eyes at me? Let me ask you this. After clinching the division, do you think it would be more prudent for Farrell to play his players full out for the remainder of the season to win HFA, or for him to get his players some much needed rest?
  5. I would not count on Pablo as being the guy, but I also would not count him out.
  6. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Not necessarily Morales and not necessarily a strict DH, but it doesn't have to be Encarnacion either.
  7. Haha. I'm sure I'm guilty of mixing up my homophones from time too time. Not because eye don't know the difference, but because the muscle memory in my fingers gets going two fast. The won that bothers me the most is 'your' versus 'you're'.
  8. Dombrowski was thinking about 2017 and beyond before he made his first move for the Sox. We have had many discussions about what our roster or rotation might look like next year. No biggie.
  9. I am very happy with the job that Leon has done. I also think Bannister gets a lot of credit.
  10. Playoff spot clinched! Next step, clinching the division. One game at a time.
  11. And still, not one person has suggested that the team will stand pat.
  12. Thank you for the link. I think there is room for more subjectivity in MVP voting than there is in Cy Young, ROY, or Gold Gloves. It's harder to define "Most Valuable" than it is to define "Best".
  13. I think a strong case can be made for both Ortiz and Pedroia.
  14. I don't think anyone is saying that Porcello is not deserving. I have been one of his biggest supporters since he joined the team and Ben and I would love to see him win the Cy. The race is tight enough that I have no problem with Porcello winning it. If I'm being as objective as possible, however, I have to give it Kluber, by a hair. The voters will likely go with Porcello, mostly because of his 22 Wins.
  15. As someone mentioned, this could be just a ploy to try to light a fire under Shaw's butt. For whatever reason, he seems to perform his best when his job is in jeopardy. Either way, I believe the idea of Pablo joining the roster was only in the case of injury. If Shaw or Holt is injured, could Pablo possibly be a better back up option than Hill or Moncada? I don't think there is any possibility of Pablo winning the job back except out of extreme need. All that said, I think the fact that Farrell would even mention Pablo as a possibility is a good sign.
  16. This is one debate in which I don't think I've seen a single statistical fact stated to argue the point. And what you have stated are not facts, they are your opinions.
  17. I have jokingly said before that, if anything, Farrell should be given credit for Wright's injury rather than blame. This team took off after Wright's injury.
  18. It was a freak accident. Farrell could probably put Wright in to pinch run 100 more times and he would not injure himself. Pretty much all the 'experts' agree that using a starting pitcher to pinch run was the correct call there. Really the only choices Farrell had were Wright or Pomeranz. I can agree that Pomeranz was probably the better option, but regardless, I think blaming Farrell for Wright's injury is unwarranted.
  19. SFF for the sweep! Go Sox!!!
  20. Terribly tragic news. My heart goes to his family and friends.
  21. That is like a dagger through my heart. I'm not trying to knock Leon in any way. I love the dude. I think he's a great defensive catcher whose framing numbers aren't reflecting that this season. Either way, I've always touted Leon's defense, which goes well beyond pitch framing. I would be very happy with a Leon/Vazquez tandem next season.
  22. I am high on Vazquez, as you are. This is not a knock on Leon, whom I think is awesome.
  23. That's a fair enough point, but I think it also goes beyond just who the backup is. But now we're talking intangibles, like leadership, experience, grit, etc. That is in no way suggesting that Mookie fails in the intangible department.
  24. I said 'best player', but I actually meant 'best season'. Still, I think that a player who is not having the best season can be the most valuable player. I often think to myself, which player would I hate to lose the most for the season? It's often a very close call, but it's not always the player having the best season. For example, I'm inclined to think that losing Papi or Pedroia this season could have impacted the team more than losing Mookie. Maybe not this year because Mookie has been otherworldly, but I think you get my point.
  25. LOL It was a joke, in response to all the undeserved flack Farrell got for using Wright as a pinch runner.
