  1. Well, I think we all support whatever GM is here as far as hoping that his moves work out. We don't have much choice. Supporting a GM as far as the types of moves he makes is a whole different story.
  2. Are you not a Bloom supporter? Do you want Dombrowski back?
  3. Bloom will have his work cut out for him this off season, no doubt. In Bloom we trust.
  4. Then they play 4 more the week after that. The Yanks and the Jays have not met yet this year. Go Jays! Also, go Os!
  5. This was a brutal game to watch. Never mind the loss. All those pitches, and 4 hours, 20 some minutes long for a 9 inning game. Thank goodness that wasn't a 7:30 start time.
  6. LOL The Jays pitching seems to be almost as bad as ours. We had a chance! Triggs actually pitched decently.
  7. I forgot to mention Foulke and Embree being guests "in the booth" this game. They were in Oregon, in one of their backyards, just hanging with each other and chilling on their rocking chairs. Good stuff.
  8. I very much dislike the whole idea of openers and bullpen games. Give me some real starters who can pitch 6-7 innings every game. Bullpens were not meant to pitch 6 innings a game.
  9. The same could be said for the Red Sox.
  10. I find it much more fulfilling to watch homegrown players, that we drafted and developed, than to watch players that we sign as free agents. However, a big reason to have a strong farm is to be able to trade for players like Sale. There is a sense of accomplishment in going that route also. FTR, I am not at all against trading players to fill a need. I am against trading players away excessively, to the point where it takes a top 3 farm system and makes it a bottom 3 farm system in less than 2 years. My least favorite way of acquiring a player is to throw the most money at a superstar in a monster contract.
  11. It's only been a short while, but he seems to be happy here. Of course, that could change if things don't go the way he thinks they should. But let's hope the change of scenery is the cure for whatever was going on with him in St. Louis.
  12. We have 14 wins and 5 of them are against the Jays. Their inability to beat up on us like the Rays and Yankees have is keeping them from possibly winning the division.
  13. He is 0-2 with a 16.20 ERA. LOL
  14. I don't buy that Mookie did not want to be in Boston. I think now that he is with LA, he probably prefers that over Boston, but I don't believe that he would not have re-signed with Boston if the money was right. At the same time, once he was traded, I didn't see any way that he would be coming back. Mookie was after the money, period. If the Sox had not traded him, then gave him the best offer during free agency, Mookie would have accepted. He would have possibly accepted an offer from the Sox before free agency if said offer made him the highest paid player in baseball. But I think the only reason he accepted the Dodgers' offer before free agency is because of the uncertainty brought about by the pandemic.
  15. We're on a roll! Let's keep it going!
  16. I don't care what our record is, that was a fun game to watch.
  17. I know the Sox haven't been very exciting to watch most of the time, but there is a lot of good and exciting baseball going on in this wacky season. The expanded playoffs have really kept most teams in the hunt. There's a good race going on in the AL Central for first place. The Phillies have pulled themselves up to 2nd in their division. IMO, the story of this season so far is the Padres. The White Sox are also up there. Go Baseball!
  18. Great story indeed. I'm very happy for him.
  19. The upcoming games that the Yankees and Blue Jays have against each other should be fun. But chin up Yankees fans, you still get to play the Sox 3 more times. LOL I don't think it will happen, but it's possible that there could be 4 teams in the playoffs from the same division. That's crazy.
  20. I am hardly one to defend the Yankees, but I very much disagree about Cashman. Cashman is a good GM who, IMO, too often gets overridden by people above him. Let him do his thing and the Yankees would be in much better shape as far as those huge contracts go. Even with that, the Yankees are in the playoffs year after year. The playoffs are a crap shoot. I know the ultimate prize is winning the World Series, but you can't blame the GM if the team is consistently getting to the post season. I do agree that Hal's spending is not the problem. He is a very generous owner.
  21. For whatever reason, I have never been able to get into college sports of any kind. Many, maybe even most people I know say they prefer college sports over pro sports. It's a shame that they had to be put on hold.
  22. Thanks for posting these Harmony. It's very strange (and immature) that he would leave without any communication, regardless of what his reason was for leaving.
  23. I do recall seeing something about playing time, but I didn't know what the exact circumstances were around that. I guess he didn't leave St. Louis on the best of terms. Hopefully, his ego or whatever it is will not be a problem with the Red Sox.
  24. Probably, but not necessarily. I think Mookie jumped at the Dodgers' offer with a huge sigh of relief.
