  1. The pitching staff will be decent if they can stay healthy. We just need them to keep the games within reach and give the offense a chance.
  2. Epic. We need Don and Remy back together.
  3. Just want to give a shout out to Max and his extreme game thread mojo. I have purposefully stayed out of the game threads during this win streak so as not to jinx it. LOL
  4. You are cracking me up.
  5. When I first heard about the runner on 2nd rule in extra innings, I really thought it was the stupidest idea that anyone every came up with. I still prefer not to have it, but I do think that it adds excitement, strategy, and urgency to the extra innings. That said, I'm a fan of the 18 inning marathon games.
  6. Not to defend the Yankees, but the outcome of a 1 run game is pretty random to begin with. When you get into extra innings and a team loses by that one run that started on 2nd base, that only adds to the randomness of the outcome. These games are more or less a 50-50 toss up.
  7. Though I don't hate either the 7 inning double headers nor the runner on 2B to start extra inning rule as much as I did when the ideas were first presented, I still prefer not to have either. I think I am very much a traditionalist when it comes to the way the game is played. I really dislike the opener. As far as I can recall, the only new rule that I like is the rule about relievers having to face a minimum of 3 batters.
  8. I thought and still think that 14 pitchers made the most sense. I was surprised at the number of people who thought we should go with 13 pitchers.
  9. When things are going bad, there's definitely a lot more posts in the game threads. I don't get it, but oh well. LOL
  10. Mad Max Mojo!
  11. Pivetta did his job. Not the greatest line, but I'll take 4 runs in 6 innings.
  12. This is a good thing!
  13. Something I was reminded of this morning: The Sox are undefeated in games in which someone forgets how many outs there are.
  14. Not such a good showing today for them, but I'm sure the overall approach from Cora and the relievers was different given the 'comfortable' lead that they had.
  15. Keep the good news coming Harmony!
  16. Every other team in our division is 4-5. Woot!
  17. I did not see those plays, but it makes me happy to read about them.
  18. I like it! He made two very good defensive plays yesterday and today, to go along with his homeruns. By all accounts, he works really hard on his defense, and he gets down on himself more than anyone else does when he messes up. As Koch said, just let him be.
  19. Completely agree Moon.
  20. I have always thought and still think that Cashman is a good GM. However, as you pointed out, he's been with the Yankees for a long time. It probably is time for the Yankees to bring in a fresh face and fresh perspective.
  21. The Yankees will be fine as far as making the playoffs and probably winning the division. That said, we've all pointed out the question marks surrounding the Yankees rotation. They have almost as much uncertainty in their rotation as the Sox have.
  22. Bill Koch @billkoch25 · 8h Rafael Devers as a cartoon character would be a puppy. Sure, he'll pee on the carpet a couple of times and chew on your slippers. But the good he brings to your day far, far outweighs the minor inconveniences. Just let him be. He's special. #RedSox ^^This.
  23. Imagine if that would have resulted in an inning ending double play instead. LOL Good hustle by Dalbec. Maybe tying the game will get him going.
  24. Richards did his job last night. Keep the team in the game. More often than not, the offense will get it done. A shoutout to our pen which has been surprisingly good so far.
  25. Mookie would not have eliminated the Sox, but IMO, the Sox would have had to been the highest bidder by a fair amount. I don't think that was happening, otherwise they wouldn't have let him go in the first place. So maybe the Sox did take into consideration that the Dodgers would extend him.
