Just don't fall into the trap of over-paying MVP and Cy Young candidates, when you could be over-paying journeymen or those with off-field issues for a lot less.
Oh, nothing much. Championships. Winning culture. Superstars. Daily sell-outs. Things like that. (Although as I noted before, none of that is as important to athletes as the money; so maybe being a crappy team doesn't matter!)
I'm not saaying there aren't other crappy organizations w/ nothing to offer besides money. I'm just saying the RS, incredibly, have become one of them.
Don't the RS have to do more than 'match' other offers? Since the way they have treated players and their usual cellar finishes don't really offer any incentive other than money. (It wasn't this waay as little as 5 years ago).
No gee, I didn't realize that at all! A company? No way! I thought sports owners were all individuals. I would NEVER use the name of an owner as a synecdoche for the team. And hey, did you know that the elipses at the end of your statement are ambiguous?????
Are you the internet police? You don't like posts, then don't read them. You don't like certain posters, block them. No one comes here to be lectured on moral proprieties.
Well, you should be happy then. This is why we don't have Betts, or Bogaerts, or (going back) Lester. And because the RS are so firm in this theory which they share with you, that too explains the many last-place finishes.
Better start clearing a space in that trophy case!

Cooper FREAKING Criswell!!!! It's on, baby!
I don't understand why thy would. They still charge the lux tax more or less averaged over the years of th contract, right?(since teams are not allowed to front-load or back-load contracts to manipulate lux tax computation). Why would the league care?
