  1. Or, a trade for a 2B or 3B could be coming!
  2. Agree! When I first saw the report I wasn't too excited, but after looking closer at his stats it started looking like a good deal. The guy has pretty good numbers, and shows up in October. I still believe the Sox will make one more trade for an infielder for either second or third.
  3. Duren is a workout beast! He also avoids injuries during the season. Maybe, the others in the camp can learn from him and do a better job staying on the field. Everyone else there has had issues with injuries.
  4. Agree, it seems like each offseason the problem continues to grow. Still way to many impact players still not signed and we are a month away from pitchers and catchers. It seems to work for the players coming over from Japan. Forces teams to put their bids in and not drag out the process.
  5. Agree, both Houck and Casis have both had some successes and are still inexpensive. Houck was an All-Star pitcher not to long ago, and Casis could be a source of power the Sox have been looking for.
  6. Agree! I am good with 4 years, but the 5th I think at the $$$ is asking for trouble.
  7. I agree, Bless was suppose to be the next big thing. Just another example of hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports.
  8. Contreras much like Gray, his number look better then you thought. Still with one of the Sox goals to improve the D, his defense will go a long way for that to happen.
  9. KC and Casis are the wildcards for the Sox in 2026. Heading into spring training we don't know how ready they will be able help the Sox. If both are able to help then maybe a trade could happen. Right now it wouldn't surprise me if they both start the year at AAA. But neither are going to be there all summer.
  10. Unfortunely, doesn't look like the D-Backs are going to move Marte, The GM all but said that he will remain in Arizona. So he is not the solution to Sox lack of production.
  11. Yoshida lack of power, but hit tool, is the reason why the Sox have been searching for more power. If they had more power they could plug Yoshida in the 2 hole and be fine,
  12. Agree, Jay's are looking for one more big bat and the Yanks haven't done anything. Wondering if Hal is having money problems. The O's starting pitching has improved a lot. The bottom line is who every has the healthiest pitching will win the AL East.
  13. Donovan was third option if Bregman didn't sign. Means Mayer 3B and doesn't really solve the power issue. If only DHam hit a little more, His speed is disruptive like Duran's. Speed is a game changer.
  14. Agree, Sale trade did not work out for the Sox. With his injury plagued final seasons in Boston who could have predicted his first season in Atlanta.
  15. Agree! Devers was the only one who saw him as the long term 3B in Boston. He was going to be asked to be 1B or DH eventually. I think what happened in 2025 would eventually happen anyway.
  16. Password had five OFs ahead of him with KC move to the OF, and six if you count Yoshida. He was blocked. I think all of the prospects traded were either blocked , or are years from the big leagues.
  17. Ragans is the only pitcher that I would part with Duran. An the could only happen if he is a healthy pitcher.
  18. Much like Yoshida, no defense or power, I'll take a pass.
  19. If KC starts the year in Boston (not traded) he could get Refsynder ABs. An when (not if) injuries hit his versatility will come into play. It works if he is hitting because right now he isn't a plus defender anywhere. The Sox have made an investment and are not going to leave him at AAA all summer.
  20. I agree. We already have players that can't stay healthy. THE Rangers asks will be high and they won't want eat any of the money.
  21. LF Anthony 3B Bregman RF Abreau SS Story 1B Contreras DH Duran CF Rafaela C Narvaez 2B Mayer Bench Wong, Gonzalez, Campbell, ? Casas starts season AAA Yoshida - Sox find away to get rid of the contract - if the Sox goal this off season is improve defense and power, he does neither
  22. Refsnyder played his role with Sox to a perfection. The crowded outfield included him though. In the ideal world Abreau plays more against lefty pitchers and does well, or Campbell ( looks like Sox are transitioning him to the outfield) picks up the Refsynder ABs and does well. I wish Refsynder well, but the Sox weren't paying him what he ended up getting from Seattle.
  23. The roster allows for 26 players. Most teams (including the Sox) have 13 pitchers and 13 position players. Once the Bregman issue is resolved you will have a little bit of an idea of the 13 position players the Sox will have on the roster. I really think the Sox want to save the DH as a way to rotate different players to give everyone ABs. So any potential trade of Duran won't happen until Bregman issue is resolved. I personally wouldn't trade Duran unless it's in a deal to get a #2 starter. Then you have the questions surrounding Casis, Yoshida, and Campbell. There are still a lot of moving parts and a lot of off season to answer some of these questions.
  24. Soto already past Cespedes in the prospect rankings. He is already a big kid at his age so probably won't stay at SS. He is a switch hitter with bat to ball skills. Years away from helping the Sox, but when is the last time the Sox minor league system produce a switch hitter? Maybe in a couple years the excitement will build.
  25. The Dodgers had a ton of money that wasn't even on the WS roster. Spending money covers teams mistakes. Saw
