  1. We'll let you be the one who tries to take money from them...
  2. I think they would implement robot umps if they thought the fans would like it. I think right now they're generally very concerned about losing the fans.
  3. DEFCON 3. It's short for Defense Condition.
  4. The other thing about Stanton is, he's basically a DH now. He has so many issues with his legs that it would be silly to play him in the field.
  5. I read that the Blue Jays offered 4/$78, which is $19.5 AAV. This way he gets an extra $12 mill guaranteed and presumably gets to play where he wants. Seems like a winner for both sides.
  6. No flaming in 2021, man. It's a time for unity.
  7. Always good to have a Jedi on your team.
  8. With a little more payroll flexibility too, though LOL
  9. The conundrum is, they don't much like the big FA busts later on either...
  10. Lin's $2.05 mill ain't gonna kill the team that signed Rusney Castillo.
  11. Very interesting they're putting him on the rule changes, after his comments suggesting all the metrics were having a negative impact on the entertainment quality of games. Have to give Manfred credit for a good move, I think.
  12. Surely Kluber can get more than $6-8 mill.
  13. Might have to incorporate that one...
  14. Janky ass = new one on me.
  15. No worries, our standards are low here.
  16. $15 mill AAV is pretty sweet.
  17. I'm thinking it's the offseason of delayed gratification...sure hope the gratification shows up.
  18. Mets are reportedly close to a deal with Hand. Guess it ain't him...
  19. Reports are the Yanks are close to bringing back DJL.
  20. You're right. It's after-the-fact labeling.
  21. FWIW I heard the Marlins are out.
  22. One might think that the continued positive reports on Sale and E-Rod would move the Sox in the direction of not punting 2021. I never really thought they would punt it, but doubts do begin to creep in.
  23. From MLBTR: The Red Sox could soon get a good sense of the return timeline for star lefty Chris Sale. Per MassLive’s Chris Cotillo (via Twitter), Sale is expected to throw from a mound at some point in the next two weeks or so — if all goes as planned. It’s promising that he’s already nearing that milestone, having undergone his Tommy John procedure at the end of March of 2020. It is hard to imagine that Sale will be ready for the start of the season, but perhaps he could resume competitive pitching relatively early in the 2021 campaign.
