  1. Looks like exactly the kind of signing you'd expect from our patient, methodical Chief Baseball Officer.
  2. File under 'all in good fun'...
  3. That Naps team had 322 errors in 140 games LOL I suspect a whole lot of things were different back then.
  4. His career bWAR was -0.3. Not sure he was actually worse than Panda was for us.
  5. Let's just remove all team nicknames so absolutely no one can be offended.
  6. A true icon of cinema.
  7. Depends on how you define 'worst'. 1. Lots of loud complaining. 2. Disappearing.
  8. Thanks to Ghost for starting such a thought-provoking thread.
  9. The Phillies are allegedly cutting payroll, so that's gonna be interesting...
  10. The 1978 team was the most star-studded Red Sox team of 'em all, I think (sigh).
  11. Are there only stars and jabronis in your books, Denny?
  12. Good for you, man. Needless to say, all you health care providers should be looked after first.
  13. I'm 75% Scottish/25% French. The other thing Scots are known for is being tightwads LOL
  14. The thing is, if you make a big splash for Springer, it won't leave enough money for pitching. And this team has made plenty of splash signings over the last 15 years or so, and most of them have been major busts. Why should Henry want to do it all over again?
  15. It was more a case that he wanted out, no? It wasn't a lack of productivity. He posted a .926 OPS with us that year.
  16. Our offense ended up with decent overall numbers. JDM was the only big disappointment. Verdugo was great, JBJ had a strong finish, Dalbec chipped in late etc.
  17. Manny's deal didn't even end all that poorly, really. It was a messy exit, but we got J-Bay in the trade.
  18. There are very few free agent contracts given to premier players that aren't at least one or two years too long.
  19. We were talking about credit for the 2018 team, and based on your post #1666 above, you seemed pretty dubious about giving BC any credit for that.
  20. Hal sets the budget for Cash quite rigidly. Wouldn't let him do a thing at last year's deadline. It's not really a big surprise if there's only enough room in Hal's big dollar pie for DJ. So Cash might have to roll the dice on the rotation. Or maybe he'll swing a trade for a starter.
  21. I don't think he'll go away. He has an uncontrollable urge to start a thread every time a thought pops into his head.
