  1. Yes, ERA+ and ERA- do.
  2. The only number that could possibly benefit is his wins.
  3. It's not really a gift, it's just that we had a harder schedule than the other AL East teams before now.
  4. On the Yankee thread.
  5. Another delightfully costly error by Sanchez.
  6. Cleveland 8 Yankees 0 in 5th
  7. Peripheral stats say E-Rod has pitched a lot better than his ERA and has been victimized by our terrible D.
  8. Pivetta is pretty much the definition of a #5 starter.
  9. They already said he's been moved to the pen for the rest of the regular season, though.
  10. Houck threw 71 pitches on the 15th, I'd be surprised to see him today.
  11. Max is a would-be vigilante ump.
  12. You're giving umps an awful lot of power there.
  13. Time to give credit to Bloom for staying on the job in making the pickups of old friends Shaw and Iglesias, whose contributions have been almost comically better than expected.
  14. "Still unexplained" like the other great mysteries of baseball.
  15. Sanchez needs a butterfly net.
  16. I'd like to see something Akin to a 9-2 Red Sox win.
  17. Oh, I was laughing. There was another high pitch that he almost failed to catch too. He's an adventure. Glad he's their catcher and not ours.
  18. I'm not sure I've seen any incorrect rectangles. I follow a lot of games on Gameday, and I see some egregiously bad calls there. And this is Major League Baseball's own technology.
  19. A good catcher would have hung onto at least one of those 'wild pitches'. With all our talks of robo umps and how they will reduce the impact of catcher skills, Gary Sanchez is a reminder that sometimes it's pretty important for the catcher to be able to, well, catch the freakin' thing.
  20. Means pitched last night for the Birds, so we'll miss him in the upcoming series.
  21. Until the last 2 games, in which, in 6 PA's, he had 2 hits, a walk, and 5 RBI.
  22. Jerry is a very evil mouse.
  23. Even WAR skews pretty strongly toward offense. As with Jeter and Bogey.
  24. Unfortunately, power surges like this at his age make me suspicious now.
  25. Very few games are easy.
